Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Gosh so sorry bout the puppy! You just barely get used and attached to them and then that... :(

Went through most of my older ducklings today to voice sex them. Of my 11 Anconas (6 blue, 5 black) I have a whopping 3 or 4 females, 2-3 of them in my black ones! Not a good deal.
Then checked my Holderread ducklings. Gotta say I had a bit more luck there. I think bout 5 or 6 out of 13. But both my Appleyards are males :( so I guess I got lots to do of finding them new homes!

Then I started on building a new duck house for our oldest ones (over 1 year olds). If the rain and storms hold out this weekend I should be able to finish it. Got the floor pallet done so far. Took forever to get all the nails and staples out of the wood planks, then finding straight ones. Urgh.

No more ducklings lost so far. Hope that was it. Don't know if I could handle any more. The last one was my favorite in temperament and coloring. Miss her already :(

Wilds am what kind of duck shelter are you making? Inquiring minds want to know. We put together a hay house last fall for the winter because they weren't staying in the one we made. Worked Great But Would Love Some Plans For A Real Duck house.

So sorry about puppy, Jim. That is so depressing. She was such a little sweetie at the bash. So darn cute and fuzzy.

good evening,,
thanks for all the kind words about puppy..
OK, I give up.. I will call her Ana..

I got my Blazer back today.. $2500.oo worth of repairs.. It was finished on May 30, but we had to scrape up the $$$$ to pay for it.. the guys at the fixit shop said we could post date a check for part of the bill, but we didn't feel right about doing that ..

I have lots of new guinea keets in the hatcher..

I sold 15 of the week old ones today.. they are already replaced with this new hatch ..

with all that was going on today, I did not get the straw spread onto my potato patch.. Oh well, there's always tomorrow ..

I have 8 duck eggs in the hatcher, too.. they are marked due on the 16th..

This morning , Annie brought in 65 guinea eggs from a nest .
they are going to lock down on July 6.. but prolly might hatch before that,, I think there were a couple of guineas sitting on these eggs ..

Peace to Puppy and to you.

Pepper still only had 2 chicks but I did hear peeping in 1 more egg. Jasmine stole her nest along with 1 of the chicks. I moved her to separate quarters. She was not happy. She squawked so much she got the whole coop upset! It was almost dark so I locked up and left. I checked in about 45 min. and she was defiantly off the eggs but since it was after roost time she settled in when I put her on them. I hope 45 min. wasn't too long.

Night All!

Hi yah... Too much to catch up on with you guys and vice versa. My purpose of today is to find out who might have fertilized duck eggs. Georgie is broody. I don't really want more geese because Georgie is the sweetest goose ever and there won't be another as good as her. It only gives downhill with comparison geese I think. (That is unless someone knows of and has particularly docile, sweet geese AND hatching eggs). While I was in Scotland my kids lost all but 2 of my ducks. All I have left is my Aystralian spotted drake and my Welsh Harlequin drake. A total bummer. Since Geirgie is broody, and I hate brooding ducklings, I thought I'd ask on here. Anybody??

Yes I miss all you regular characters. And YES I did hear stories from the Bash. I think it was probably better I was in Scotland for it... ;-)

Nice to hear from you Bigfam ! Yeah you missed some nice raffles and white elephant gifts. TO can you post a picture of that chicken fan ? I meant to take one. I love that fan. I saw a dog fan yesterday at Fosters and Smith and they wanted $70 for it. Rip off ! Makes me feel real good about the deal I got on that fan. $15 reg $30.
I've already started shopping for next years White Elephant. No luck so far.
Wish I could say my duck eggs were fertile. My ducks (magpies, muscovys) have been setting for I'm sure well over 28 days as well as the geese. Nothing !!! Gee Whiz !! And I have yet to find any guinea nest. Sneaky B@st@rds !!!

Jim are you coming up to Waves sale tomorrow. Guess someone else is bring cockatiels, love birds and parrolets. More for Annie.

Plus I think I read Goldenretriever mix pups. and a small dog pup, goats, guinea pigs, mini stallion, horse tack and saddles.

Hope the rain hold off for her. Oh and pony rides for kids.
