Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Currently there are 23 PP offices in the state, one in Eau Claire. I think she can get her BC just fine.

CS, I am sorry you have a migraine. I woke up with a sinus headache at 5...

Wasn't a dog did trap a coon but never heard of a coon killing like that

So sorry to hear about your loss.
If you are in Wisconsin, perhaps we all have a couple to send your way. Was it a night, or dY attack?

All is well here. I will be choosing to not chime in on the current conversation.
Jim, very good turkey hatch. We have poor rates here with the turkeys. But have a bunch under broodys currently. And will see how that goes. Should be better!
Busy as always. 4-h is nearing the end of classes. And we are doing all kinds of make-up sessions. Every year I tell myself I will set aside two of my free days for makeup. And if kids don't make it, too bad if they can't show. But I can never bring myself to do it. So many always need just one more class. And never can meet on the same day/time.
it is quite humid in work. B ut I still like it better than the cold!
Cs, hope your baby roo returns.
cind, I hope Jasmine didn't loose all those eggs on you.
Clark, sorry to hear about more troubles with your daughter.
It is so wet I our barn. I open the doors daily to try to get a breeze. But then Brownie breaks in! Little sh! T. He loves getting into the feed! At least the coop stays pretty dry.

Coons might look all cute and fuzzy but they are stone cold killers.

I WAS going to make strawberry cheesecake. Did you guys know that chickens and wild turkeys love strawberries?

The beach sounds nice!

Stocking: Welcome to the thread and so sorry to hear about losing your flock-I can't imagine!

Cuties: Good luck and 4-H make up sessions! I would like to get involved in a local poultry 4H group...adding it to my to-do list.

DH is talking about getting involved in Habitat for Humanity, I think I would enjoy being involved in 4-H better. Working with the kids would be so fulfilling, alot of work and time though, I'm sure.

How hard is it to get involved as an adult to help with stuff? I was never in 4-H, although I had some friends who were. I was a Campfire Girl for a while, then a Girl Scout for a few years. I really wanted to join the boy scouts because they got to do all the cool stuff.

I agree with both comments Irishrovr - what a great way to pay for a fun weekend with like minded folks. I was so disappointed I wasn't able to join in this year and am VERY much looking forward to camping with everyone next year. One of the reasons I donated an item is to help this continue. I also like the idea of a Chinese Auction although I think the idea of auctioning the "hot items" first is good too. By doing that everything will go to a winning ticket. Where as with the Chinese Auction if something does not receive any tickets, what of the prize? Just adding my penny's worth.

I've never seen a Chinese Auction where nobody put tickets in for a prize - if that happens I suppose you could draw from all the tickets that weren't pulled.

4-h is very rewarding!
I have been training the dog project for 15 years :) now my kiddos are finally getting to an age where they can be clover buds. And really are learning. My daughter has shown signs of being shy the past two years. It is weird bec she started out super outgoing. But has become self concise. I think it has a little to do with kids and the way they can sometimes be at school. She has lots of friends. But still always worries whT others will think of her actions.
She has given a few speeches for our club. And was nervous to the point of being sick. But was so rewarded when she was able to get through it! They currently have two pairs each entered for the show this year. Chickens pairs. They will have to show in the open classes. Because they are so young yet. But it will give us a chance to learn how the poultry project works.
My son is just 4. But is learning to sit calm during meetings. And got a first place trophy last yeR at the poultry fu match! It made him feel so happy. He even did chores for about two weeks without complaints ;) he still does them, we just hear about it again lol
To become a leader, it is quite simplenfor our county. We just had a background check, and have to take a short clSs at the tech. Very simple and fun!!
you can choose in so many different projects. Choose something you really enjoy. And can help kids to enjoy!
