Jim) at my old house we just had 3 white leghorns. Just to keep us in eggs. Now we have 1 buff orp, 4 red star pullets, 4 americauna hens, 1 gold laced Wyandotte pullet. Getting 15+ lemon cuckoo orp eggs to set and try to hatch.

Cc) I did. We are on 4+ acres now. My garden has been taking up a lot of my time right now. (50x50)

I wanted to finish that post but had to put the 3yo to nap cause man o man he is a crab.

Anyways, I am looking for marans, more amercaunas and more orps. Not sure what colors of what, but I think I might try keeping a rooster of those cuckoos and if he doesn't drive me crazy try selling chicks for fun. Or hatching eggs.

good afternoon,,

I came in to cool off.. got the first section poured.. it took the rooster only 30 seconds to walk over the wet cement. followed a few minutes later by 4 guineas..I made two bridges over it, so maybe they will use them from now on..

I sold 5 guinea keets this monrning, I gave the people the one small mullti colored rooster ..

I think the batteries in my keyboard are getting weak.. the typing is sporadic ..

Thanks for all the wishes for Buster. I know he's in a better place but he is dearly missed by all.

Cleaned out all the condos, had a nice talk with Christine and Delbert (state testers) and am kinda catching a cool breath inside.

Then on to cleaning the bigger ones, but debating to toss them out in the condos, since it's been nice during the night now and they just got their big bird feathers... Hmmm. One less mess in the house... I think I'll do it.

Del, didn't you say you have Toulouse geese? SO is looking for a pair of them as he don't like Emdens very much. Or so you know of someone closer to around here?

Think I'm gonna take a nap as we got to bed really late (2.30am) as he was looking out for (and killing one) racoon. (Woken up by the very unhappy still caged ducks and the whining dog of the brat.)Unfortunately it wasn't the big fat one he saw, so I guess it's gonna be another late one tonight too. So asta luego!

I sold 16 keets today.. not a bad day.. wish I could do it all year round..

the first section of concrete is set..there will be no more chicken tracks in that one,,

I tossed the chickens 3 loaves of bread,, one hen kept jumping up onto my lap.. those birds know what a plastic bag with bread in it is for..

put 3 more keets into the chick tv..

and now I really must be going..

Strange coincidence this evening. We went to a friends who was complaining about their neighbors dog. It runs loose all of the time, fights with dogs, kills chickens . . . Turns out its our neighbors ex husband, and the dog is their daughters! Guaranteed its the "black lab" my son saw at our neighbors the day before or chickens were killed. She needs to keep that thing at her dads.
