Hi All!

Thanks Jim! That's kinds what I had in mind but I think I'll slope it rather than making a step over. That way it will be easier for anything with wheels. The bottom of my door is already rotted from the wet straw and such so that was going to get chopped anyway. Any suggestions for the type on concrete to pour on concrete? Will I need a binder of some type on the old floor?

Everything else seems same-old, same -old.

Cind, I suppose a binder would be something to consider, but I am not going that route..

I am just going to use the ready mix bags I used on the sidewalk.. I have 3 bags left over just for this project..
I like the blue bags that Menard's sells,, It is about $2.09 a bag,, I got it on sale last week for $1.98

I figure that with the sidewalk draining water away and all, that not much water should even reach the sill.. any little trickle that might come through won't bother me.. I figure the tight fit of the poured concrete will be a sufficient seal..

I thought about making a ramp.. but then I thought that if ice would form in the cold months, it would be more of a hazard stepping on a slippery slope..

I don't go in and out with anything wheeled anyhow,,,,much.. If I need to, I can always put a couple of boards as a temporary ramp..

this is the finished walk,, 4 feet wide and 12 feet long.
the supervisor is giving it the walk test ...
that rooster checks out everything I do.. he is very sociable..

I still have to remove the wooden forms yet,, I might leave the side forms in place.
they will eventually rot away, but that will take a couple of years..

just for sh!tz and giggles, I swept it down.. as it sits, is the cleanest it will ever be..

yup, I just plugged in the memory card and deleted at least 50 old pictures..
I didn't realize how many dog pictures I had.. and still have lots of them..

If you have uploaded all the pictures from the memory card to the computer, you can completely clear off the memory card. No reason to keep the pictures on there.

Taking the Jetta in for the BIG service........ ouch!

Hi everyone...lurking a lot lately...between the vacation/ conference, lost my job, startd a new one, two sisters in town from out of testator and this weekend a rummage sale...plus kids activities...li has been bonkers. Chickens are good, getting rid of a pair of silkies...want to get out of them for now but kids want to keep their white one that was one of our originals...she is retired but a sweet girl.
I have a friend looking for day old chicks in next couple of weeks. They have the coop and are working on the run. They want them for eggs and eventually 4h. They want 4 but I said get at least 5 figuring a roo in the mix which they can't have. Figure two pure birds like buff orps or such and two EE colored egg layers...anyone have some hatching soon or just hatched in the Madison area?

Afternoon To All, and welcome to the new folks....cute pic flowerducks, that pic could be submitted to backyard poultry magazine for a chance at making the cover and some $'s.....nothing to lose.

Good job on cement walk Jim.

Feed at the mill was $9 a bag....you gotta love the price for sure.

Worked in the garden for awhile...sure is wet and muddy out there....I'm hoping for a few dry days to get some serious work done out there.Grass needs cut again too....dang...someone needs to tell mother nature it's July!

5 went to Wonderland and only "Alice" survived. I found one other, dead. All others are presumed dead, buried, and Wonderland is closed! All of the orps from my Easter hatch buried themselves alive attempting to hide from the "Queen of Hearts".
