Cind, I suppose a binder would be something to consider, but I am not going that route..
I am just going to use the ready mix bags I used on the sidewalk.. I have 3 bags left over just for this project..
I like the blue bags that Menard's sells,, It is about $2.09 a bag,, I got it on sale last week for $1.98
I figure that with the sidewalk draining water away and all, that not much water should even reach the sill.. any little trickle that might come through won't bother me.. I figure the tight fit of the poured concrete will be a sufficient seal..
I thought about making a ramp.. but then I thought that if ice would form in the cold months, it would be more of a hazard stepping on a slippery slope..
I don't go in and out with anything wheeled anyhow,,,,much.. If I need to, I can always put a couple of boards as a temporary ramp..
