Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

hi all, off for a few days, my husband had a spot in his mouth, off to er, off to urgent care, no one knows what it is... go to dentist for possible referral to biopsy, cripes! turns out virus??? wtheck? whatever. all is well....

sorry for chicken chase photos, definitely won't be posting anymore. I will get more pics of Jewel at home, I think she might be a pullet, at home inspection, will need more feedback tho from more experienced regular chickeners... :) and that was my assumption that some might not survive, we left within 5 minutes of Kody catching his chicken, so for all I know they were all taken care of soon after caught, and this was my first "chase". I didn't stick around, Kody wanted to get Jewel home asap.

raining buckets here this morning. supposed to quit soon. getting a new used dryer today, been line drying and using my mom's up the road for the time being, will be heaven to be able to dry in my own home again.

hay is ok here jim, thinking of unloading some horses tho, just don't ride like we used to with the little kids around now, figure once they get older and ride more we can purchase more horses, but no sense feeding ones we don't use that much. (now to talk my husband into this...)

Here he is Kildare. He is Pretty goodnto his hens. A littlenmessy feathers. Because he has been in the breeder pen since we acquired him last winter. But has feathered legs. And nice golden color. The hens where I got him pay the very nicemdark eggs. That was my main concern when breeding the marans. I liked the eggs.

Kvsilkies. The pictures of your son are adorable. Don't appologize. Your son obviously knows how to handle and care for chickens.Sorry if you took my initial comment personally. That was not my intent. I normally don't get involved in these conversations but I take animals and their care/abuse seriously. Guess I should appologize for making one comment that set the ball rolling so to speak. Some people just love to make drama. Not me.... Most of the time....
Now Jim on the other hand !LOL JK Jim !

I am still alive..

I hope Dora shows up soon..

I purchased some expensive Silver laced Wyandottes from some big breeder for an out ragious price and they arrived sick. I sent one off for testing and it came back positive for ILT. I have been reading up about it but I really do not know what I am going to do. I had them in isolation, but I did not always change my shoes. I might have cross contaminated. I know it says 4-10 days incubation..but is that always true? If you have any experience with ILT can you give me a call or email me?

Vicki

Ouch...sad to read. I do not know enough about ILT. Thought if they survive they will be carriers.

KV no need to apologize for the photos.

Cuties that is a nice roo. And you wanted him gone by when?? Busy fall for us.
