Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

HI All!

Hope the horse works out for whoever gets her.

Picked up 3 pullets today, 2 Aussies and a red star. Got them fro the same place I got my Guinea hen this spring.

Night All!

Oh that is a frank Lloyd wright building but I don't remember which one.

We survived one birthday party yesterday with about 10 kids and family and friends yesterday for the twins bday and today is 20 boys and girls for the second graders party. Glad,we have lots of craft projects and a bouncy house... Keep, them busy for a few hours,,
Fingers crossed they all get along. Should be fun though

Kristi wins! Frank Lloyd Wright visitor center just outside Spring Green WI.

Thank you Jim, the DH and I got a chuckle out of your answer..... ;)

Hello bird man from the NW corner of the state! We raise pheasants also (besides chickens, tons of ducks and recently geese too). We got Red Goldens (yours look more like yellow Goldens tho), Lady Amherst, Alaskan Snow and Ringnecks.

Other than that it was a nice sunny day outside once it started warming up this morning. Anyone say brrr?!

Had a somewhat lazy day, finishing and trying (emphasis on trying) to regime the chickens into their new tower home. So far we always have to catch them in the old place and put them into the new digs ourselves.

After the torrential rains we had this past week our lake came back again, and the ducks and geese have a blast swimming, bathing and digging for goodies in there. So funny to watch them compete and chase each other from the good spots!

Even the dogs got a few minutes of rough play in today and are snoring already on their blanket. Btw, Jim, anything new on Dora and her pups yet?

Gonna lock up the noisies, then time for some cheesecake brownies I made last night. Hmmm. Soo good! Night everyone!
hello again sorry here are some red goldens.....hope you like them

Welcome Birdman55.
My husband would love to own some of them but we don't have room for one more let alone the time or money for another pen. They sure are pretty.

Sun in out for the second day in a row.....wow... have no idea were to start to catch up around here.

Found a home for some ducks. New just need to decide which ones to part with. They are mixed breeds so hard to tell sex. Next year I should b e able to sell tons of duck eggs providing 50% are hens. lol

good morning,

yeah Mel, that would have been my second guess..

going to be another great day in Wisc..

our tomatoes are just starting to ripen,, Annie brought in one nice potato..
the cukes are going strong,,

my thighs are still sore, and I have to sub bowl tomorrow at noon,,

Stacy, in the mean time,, there should be two wires going to the heating element..
hook the black wire to one of them, and the blue to the other one,, white to white, always..

by jumper, they mean, you take a black wire from the cluster in the wire nut..

from that cluster, one goes to the fan,, and one white goes to the fan,, that makes the fan run continuously ..

In the mean time I will draw a schematic ..

Hey FT. Would you just send some if them duck buyers my way please?! Lol. Still have severe trouble of finding anyone wanting our babies :( but with that amount of males they will kill each other next mating season and I don't want that to happen. But also wanna make sure they go to a living home, not an eating one.

Another chilly sunny morning. Lots of potential and one of the last above 70 if the forecast is to be believed. Anyone see the forecast for next thur/fri??? A HIGH of mid 40's and a low around FREEZING!!! Who did give a slushy to Mother Nature for a brain freeze?!?

Quote: to sell to only non eating customers, you have only about 5% of the market .. Non eaters only buy one or two ,, for pets,, and most non eaters are in the same boat as you,, too many ducks already,,

you might want to re-think your marketing plan..

even to sell ducks to eaters is a small market ..

not many people are set up to butcher ducks..
and those that are set up; have their own ducks ..

so unless you plan on feeding a large flock of ducks until they die natural deaths, I would curtail most , if not all, breeding and hatching ..

a few years back I had lots of ducks.. I sell to eaters,, and I still ended up with 73 ducks which I butchered because I didn't want to feed that many through the winter,,
