Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'm sorry to hear your going through such a rough patch. Maybe the small bumps on the pittie are just fatty tumors. Mabye the rottie's lump isn't cancer either. (I know this is different) I knew an older horse once upon a time that developed a large lump in his armpit. It was from the way he layed down in his older age, but it never turned out to be cancerous. So there is still hope :)

Safe travels to everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be meeting my Pops at our half way point and traveling up the the Upper MI border to see my Grandparents. Should be interesting since they're suppose to get snow right about the time we'll be coming through :)

Wildsam, you need to invest in a Honda. I've had mine for 6 years, put 80,000 miles on it.. Its 9 years old with 125,000 miles. I've replaced a temperature sensor ($150 at the dealership) and that is it other than oil changes, air filter changes, tires and brake pads. I remember the days of spending more on repairs per month tham I do on my car payments. Its frustrating.

good evening,

good news.. I have all the fingers installed in the plucker.. 80 in the featherplate, 72 in the drum.

this time I remembered to take a picture, only this time I forgot to bring the camera along..

I have the plucker far enough along that someone could actually use it.. I just have a little tweaking to do to it yet,,

wire in a switch, I have all those parts..

make a feather chute,, I also have some of that started..

I have to come up with a long allan wrench to tighten the set screw to the shaft for the feather plate,,
my hands are too big to fit under the featherplate .

I might have to invent an extension handle for the allan wrench..

I am going to start two turkeys in the roaster at about midnight.. then all I have to do tomorrow is make the dressing..

for the first time in about 15 years, all of our kids will be here for Thanksgiving dinner..and only 1 grandchild ..

happy Thanksgiving everyone..

Hope you all have a good day!

Night All!

Invited by the neighbors so we are going out today too. Seems a little strange that I'm not prepping food this morning but I'm sure I'll get over it!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Still have a bit of cleaning and cooking to do before the arrivals. Busy busy.
I hope those with car issues can get through them. We also just had two vehicles in for repairs last week. And I blew the $ I had saved for new tires on those repairs.
But I am still thankful today!
Most thankful for my kids. Be sure to give yours a big hug today if you can!!!!

good Thanksgiving morning,

Frankie decided that last night would be a good time to have her puppies,, from what I can see this morning there are at least four of them,, she is a first time mom and doing it right.. she let me pick one up and turn it toward her..

All of our "kids" will be here altogether for Thanksgiving for the first time in over 15 years..
we always have a ripping good time when we all get together,,

I let the turkeys roast all night at 200F,, they seem to be pretty well done ..I cranked the heat up just a bit to make sure..

I will be starting the stuffing/dressing in a little while,,

but first I am going to get a cuppa and relax before all the people arrive..

Happy cold Thanksgiving morning to everybody!

BBP the funny thing is: ALL our cars are Honda. All Accords. Lol. The one I drive is 24 yrs old and has about 325k miles on it. Rusted good but runs like a good deer (Oki, bad analogy lol)! That's why we jumped on the chance for one in better shaped. Wasn't meant to be :(

Not much going on here. It will be a lonely Thanksgiving as the brat will not be here til Christmas but more ham to us! :D
At least I don't have to be in the kitchen all day long and then clean up 2 days after.

We always have ham for Thanksgiving as SO gets one every year for Christmas from his work. That way at least one holiday is covered by the good food. Making some sweet taters, green bean casserole and stuffing. Gotta have stuffing! Lol. Some pumpkin pie and I will make something chocolaty for me later as I don't eat pumpkin pie.

Oh well, better get to having some pancakes. Later and stay warm while giving thanks!

Working on getting the food started- just a small group of us today- eight total- think this is the smallest group we'd hosted- us plus my parents and sister(she's driving them here)

DH just had to head into Madison to one of the rentals we manage- their furnace isn't working and although they told him they would be okay- he is going to go take a look.

Have lots to be thankful for this year!!!

Have a great day!
