Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

It is blowing like crazy right now! It's going to be a nightmare traveling home, but what can you do. Maybe it's time I invest in some sled dogs :)

Hopefully Romo has spent enough time in a warm climate that he's not fully prepared for Sunday's weather :)

Thanks BigZ, scored a decent price on the set too! Just do your research and find out what models NOT to buy!

Some of us do know what a wringer washer is Jim, in fact I have threatened my kids with getting one. Then they can know what work REALLY is.

Interview in Round Lake IL tomorrow, so I took off ASAP this morning to beat the snow. Stopped outside Milwaukee at Woodman's for 20 min, by the time I came out the snow was falling like crazy! I drove out of it and managed to make it to my cousin's house just before the snow made it here.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone!

Bigzio, I am getting settled in my new place which is near . . . nothing. Well, it's near Baraboo and Portage and the Hells I mean Dells.

Still spending WAY too much time at the old place near Milwaukee, trying to clean out 15 years worth of slobbiness so I can sell the place. Sigh. Once I get the old place on the market I can build a coop and FINALLY get some chickens.

good morning,
seems like everybody beat me up today..
I was outside without a jacket.. it felt like summer.. no wind makes the difference..

I learned how to not do laundry .. just screw it up so bad that I am not allowed to do it...
It is not as bad these days, but back in the day, pink "whites" happened when you mix colors with whites.. and you can't run rubber pants through the wringer..
I can just hear some of you younger people,, "what's a wringer ?"

.......jiminwisc.........
Jim I think more folks probably know about wringers than rubber pants! LOL...you really shouldnt put them in the dryer either...the elastic on the legs gets all weird and the "rubber" gets all crinkly...why did they call them that anyhow?

As luck would have it I grew up pretty close to Brookfield and I can at the very least pass the word. :)
THanks!

I am glad you made it safe! The roads were nasty coming home from work and I only had to go 10 miles! I hope your meeting is called off too BigZ!
I guess I will head to the kitchen and check for some leftovers...even though DH got home at 3 he didnt think to make any supper...Good think I love left overs and he doesnt!
TerriOstaywarminside!

You are not alone, Terri..
just finished supper.. Annie made a turkey pot pie,, new recipe.. not enough salt ..
but I ate enough of it so that I didn't have room for a piece of angel food cake..
I will have a piece of that in a little while.. with some ice cream..

I wasn't going to go anywhere , in these near blizzard conditions.. then Barby called.. her car just up and quit running and she was way over at Hatley .. She called a wrecker , and I went to pick her up.. It was really hard to see the road when I got home.. for the last 5 miles, I let a car pass me, then I followed him.. He followed me (too closely) for the previous 5 miles..

yesterday I saw a coyote cross right in front of me,, they are quite pretty at this time of year..

I put the puppy on Puppy Find today.. I listed him at $500.oo ..
they have quite a racket going,, I pay $20.oo to list one puppy, then anybody who wants the details has to pay to see the details and contact information , ($10.oo I think)

.......jiminwisc.............

Why the heck would anyone use that website?
I have used it before,, we always had good results..
It weeds out the casual lookers.. You can browse all you want,, they have hundreds of dogs of almost any breed you can think of,,
only when you find what you are looking for, then you pay the $10.oo for the contact information.
take a look..

just type in Puppy Find or Puppyfind ..

Just made it home from the meeting. It was a small group tonight, only 7 brave souls showed up. It was worth it for me, plenty of things were accomplished tonight. I took it slow coming home...the roads weren't terrible as long as you went slow.

Hope you sell your pups soon Jim. You don't want them eating up the profit by the bag.

I can't say for sure what happened to your chicken bbp. Hard to tell if it was attacked by something first or not.....(you could blame the neighbors dog) but prolly not if it was in the pen.

Good idea to be prepared with a coop before you get your chickens mophead.....nice to enjoy them without a bunch of work to do after they arrive. When the time comes...a lot of good advice here with any questions you have on what works best.

Wind chill in effect here till Sat...enough already for the whole Winter.

Stay Safe....bigz

Hi All!

Jim... Yup, I remember wringers...Lots of things you learn NOT to put through them....#1 fingers!

BigZ... yup, he wasn't here all his life I guess, but long enough to claim the start of his football career.

Had an exciting evening. Went to go stoke the fire and it was all smokey, I opened the fire box and reset the flue (it was cocked wrong), opened the door to the garage and set the fan to blow the smoke out. I went to my room to breath while the smoke cleared. A little while later DH comes running and yelled FIRE! He grabbed some water, I grabbed some water. The fire it's self wasn't bad, but it kept smoldering. While DH got more water, I started to see what was smoldering. Found a hole in the wood floor next to where the ash bucket was. Looks like someone missed the bucket with a hot ash and it took a while to get going. We now have a 5"x5" hole in the floor! BTW I grabbed the fire extinguisher (and used it) that DH passed about 6 times!

On a better note....
My youngest is loving his job at Donkey Balls more and more! He just got another raise and a promotion! He's now morning production manager! He and his friend are also buying 2 acres to build on. Guess he isn't planning on coming back

BTW...it's 74* there!

Night All!
