well its like zero out right now....and I didn't get any snow...so thankful for that...the new peafowl are doing great

Sunny and chilly here again. Dang Cind if I was closer, I would come with mine and get er done.

Lazy and comphy in the house....chores in the morning and then a check on the flock early afternoon...good thing I did....yesterday one of the waterers was tipped over. It musta happened early after morning chores, cause everyone was ready for a drink when I replaced it.

Nothing new here..cabin fever on full throttle yet, hope it runs outa gas soon.

Sitting here watching the snow fall...and trying not to look at the dishes that I should be doing. Lurking on BYC seems like a much more appealing option!

I made a knife setting jig for the jointer,, I am waiting for the glue to set..
next I will make a knife honer..

I had all 3 puppies out for exercise for a couple of hours.. they really enjoy the snow..
I just put them back into their coop.. now I am chilled.. no jacket on.. took a little longer to round them up than I expected ..

sun was out,, got cloudy,, good, then maybe it won't get below zero tonight..

Wood cutting day. All cut, split & stacked just as snow started. Chickens decided it was time to go in the coop when the snow started. They do not like snow. Below zero...no big deal they will all stay outside.

Without tractor until Friday ( pump being replaced). Of course that means that we get our 1st snow falls since Nov. DW has friend who will plow the homes I usually do with tractor & ours.
1st time in over 20yrs I don't have my tractor to plow. Should have know when I scheduled it for
repairs I would be inviting the snow. Hard to complain....I was still only cutting in about 2" of snow today. Looks like we'll add a couple of inches today.

Just got the truck back from the shop. Had all 3 in for repairs ( truck/trailer/backhoe ).
Not cheap, but this is my time of the year to get things fixed ( if I cant do ) & ready for the construction season. I think the trailer & backhoe have more hours on them than Jim.

Time to get back to the paperwork......some day ( after 20+yrs ) I will get caught up on it.

I hope you are right about the above 0 low tonight. If it stays in the teens overnight then the water stays liquid for the flocks.

Tonight it's 7layer dinner from home canned and froze stuff.....it will be delicious with the one layer being venzun of course.....then for a little twist, we are gonna have blueberry cheesecake for desert. It's mostly always cherry, but sometimes the blue wins over the red....only sometimes of course.

I guess we are getting only a dusting of snow here tonight,, more is forecast for a couple of days from now..

I am watching "We Are Marshall" and drawing the plans for the jointer knife honer.. I think I have a plan that will work.. tomorrow I will go out to the shop and start cutting the pieces and gluing them together.. cross your fingers.. I would cross mine, but I can't work with them crossed..

this is the jointer I bought and am reconditioning..
I will build a stand for it and fit it with a motor, then probably
sell it ..

I had to almost completely disassemble it to put it back together
so that the front and rear tables ended up parallel with each other..
the left table is stationary,, the right table moves up and down..

They get around 100lbs. But he's very hard to rehome because of his size/long life. I'm being very careful about who takes him.

Have you found a new home for your tortoise yet? If not I might know of a good place.
