These pictures eggs were shipped from Alabama. So you think it was the sellers fault BC they weren't packaged well? What should I say about the packaging? It seemed to me like maybe they tried to packaged them well and put time into it they just weren't sure about how to package them. From what I've read they lay a medium sized egg, but several of the eggs were as small as the old English game bantams I'm incubating. There were also some that were adloly shaped I'll add a couple pics. How should I expect them to be shipped. These are only the second eggs we've ordered but our silkie eggs were double boxed with newspaper in between boxes and around the containers the eggs were in. I don't remember where they shipped from but all eggs were intact with those and air cells were good

If people are selling shipped eggs, they had better research how to package them,,
Yes, I believe those eggs were not well protected..
Odd shaped eggs should not be incubated.. (or shipped)
However well intentioned,,,this seller has no clue of how to select eggs or ship eggs..

If they ship the replacement eggs the same way, you are still out the money..
I would ask for a refund and go elsewhere for eggs..

a pullet egg is from a hen that is just starting to lay.. they usually are about half the size of a normal egg.. they will gradually become larger with each egg she lays..

they are not good for incubating.. usually just not fertile..

your 2 year old is just inconsistent,, and not laying pullet eggs..
If I were collecting eggs to hatch from her, I would avoid the small ones.. that is just me,,
She is the Deleware, no I am not collecting but want to know stuff before I start.

Ok I had a pullet that was a little bullied and hid and hurt her leg and once I pulled out my med kit I see she has bug eggs near her vent...quite a few...and I know at least one other bird had some also. Are these Lice or mites or both or does it matter? Would you just spray them down, treat water, se in dust...all the above? I think I should bomb everyone some how to make sure the coop is bug free for fall..your thoughts

Take photos of the box, the shipping label and snap shot on your computer a copy of your payment. You will need these things if the eggs were (and should of been) shipped Priority to file a claim with the p.o. and also request another shipment of eggs like Jim said better packaged. Also SB are smaller chickens so would not lay a large egg. I've dealt with many poorly shipped eggs and claims thru this p.o. this past winter. Those things listed above you will need to file a claim if the seller will not resend. Let eggs sit in cool area for 2-3 days, then put in bator for 2-3 more days not turning(I have waited until 5 depending on how detached the aircells are), If they are scrambled you most likely won't have anything hatch. They might start to grow and stop sometime during the incubation process but it's worth a try. Each egg should be wrapped in bubblewrap at least 2 layers thick, sellers are now also getting this foam stuff to set the egg in that I got one shipment in and nearly all of those eggs hatched(although they were Quail eggs, not sure if that made a dif), They should never be shipped in a carton, too much bouncing around.
