my one little Olive egger disappeared yesterday evening. She just started laying a month ago and she was laying regularly until 2 weeks ago. I feel like she might have been laying elsewhere the last couple weeks and freakishly went broody and is stuck on her nest. Such a bummer of a weekend of

I hope she turns up alive and well!!

I sure hope so too. I could hear the coyotes screaming a couple miles away last night and that worries me even more. When I get home in the morning I'm hoping she's there. If anyone knows anyone who knows anyone with copper marans or a blue egg laying hen for sale please let me know too!

Hi All!

Stacy.... That seems to be coming along nicely. Do you have plans for the piece you cut out for the dormer? Maybe use it for an entryway roof?

core... hope you find your hen.

Had a scare, DH came in from mowing and said there were a pile of feathers near the garden. I went out and looked and they were definitely rooster feathers and could have come from any of 4. Had to wait until they were all in or near the coop to take a head count.... all were there! However, "Blue" (the BLRW) was missing all his tail feathers... again! Don't know what happen but he seems OK. That poor bird has had a stumpy tail most of his life. I was worried because Rudy has been acting like something has been hanging around at night. I've been letting him out more often. There are some advantages to being a night person.

Night All!

Yes Miss Cindy I do, there's going to be a small walk out porch there. The upper is my bedroom and the porch will serve as a dual purpose deer stand, I just came up with that idea when I was dreaming up the dormer as the kids have kinda taken over my other deer stand I built.

Just joined up here, west of Madison an hour or so, but work in Madison and get around. If deer season is as productive as usual, I'd be happy to drop off a package of venison for y'all. I'll probably lose track of this thread, so please nudge or PM me to remind. I'd feel terrible if I forgot. :)

Chris
Chris that is one nice thought, you are truly a kind and generous soul

I am not asking for anything, just wishing for things to go back to the "good" ole days... would enjoy seeing my husband and son hunt like my husband and his dad did was filled with good memories of father son times... As the years pass we miss the simple pleasures. You have beautiful land west of Madison love the Wisconsin River Bluffs. Tell us more about what is in your "brooder"

My Goodness what great Packer win and the weather today outstanding... Sucks to have the late Summer cold ACHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
