Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yes I did,   the guy never called me back..
I suspect the Asians got to him before I did ..
. Yeah that's probably the case. I just wanted to make sure because sometimes the way this site is you can't trust if it's working or not. You ever do any business with local breeders or hatcheries?

Yes, But not too local, Sunnyside in Beaver Dam is where I got my Cornish Rocks X's,, I got them through a local feed store,

I am set up for large capacity hatching.. I can do over 1000 eggs at a time..

I don't get into accumulating purebreds , so I don't do much with individual breeders..

..........jiminwisc...........

Once the weather turns around a bit I want to get 4-6 more layers. I was just looking for some more color variety. There's a place in Florence called northwoods poultry and I may buy some pullets from them but they're pretty expensive....like 25 for a 8 week old marans. Maybe I should shop around a bit more

I would steer clear of that place..
I dealt with them once and a friend of mine did once..
I am not saying they do not have quality birds..
Let's just say they are difficult to deal with..

Well that's good to know, I'll take that one off the list. I just really want some darker eggs in my basket. Maybe day olds is the way to go from some place online

That sounds pretty iffy to me....guess you never know til you try tho. I know when I lake beer drip for pretzels its for beer and cheese and ranch seasoning. I was thinking ranch and cheese in the bread might be a cool twist.

Morning to all, and Welcome to the cheeseheads hidden!

Did you misread the recipe Jim? It is only 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt...you didn't use Tablespoons by mistake?

Drake, the bread rises from the yeast in the beer...ain't no yeast in the beam for rising the bread....LOL...although you could try a flat heavy beam bread. Or make the beer bread and have a shot of beam with it and have a shot and a beer bread!

Guys,I was just kidding about the "Beam" bread......LOL

Warm day here as of now. About 40 degrees I'd say. Going out to my "farmer" friends today after I take a nap. I'm sure she'll put me and the kids to work.

Just bought some chicken feed at the local feed store. Used to be 12.49 for 50 lbs and it went down now. Only 10.99 a bag....I'm so okay with that! It's higher protein than any big brands I've seen at fleet farm or anywhere. 19%
