Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Happy third shift Friday to everyone. It's amazing how Much weather can change in a few days. It almost feels balmy outside. Gonna grill steak and shrimp for dinner in pre celebration of my interview going well tomorrow!

Best Wishes for a great interview cw.....nothing better than shrimp and steak on the grill....that's grilling at it's best!

I use to have a truck stop here and deliver dog food from Thiensville...Fromm Foods was the company and you could buy really specialty foods from them....I would buy cases of canned food as well as a 1/2 ton dry food and the guy would pile it all in the garage for me.....brings back a lot of memories. Those were the days of hands on dog rearing.

I also forgot to say that this will be the 7th bash.

Hi All!

Thanks Big Z! Hope I feel up to it. Geeze, your basement must be full of wood by now! Good way to keep it dry though.

I remember the TI by Leon's!

The birds went outside today and some of the young ones even ventured onto the snow!

Night All!

Gentle Morning outside here today....I like that for sure! I only cleaned up the snow once so far this Winter. I just keep packing it down with the 4 wheel drive when we only get a couple inches at a time.
I haven't seen any blow snakes here lately...but one Spring I disturbed a pair that were sunning on some big rocks in the woods...It was fun to make them puff up till they tired of it and slid down into some cracks.....these were some pretty big ones as far as snakes go.

Couple deer were in the front yard this morning, eating the berries on the European Cranberry bushes...a mere 20 feet from the house....just young ones of course. They are the ones that have a harder time finding food in the Winter.

Fish Fry Friday tonight will be pan fried Talapia with ho-made Cajun oven fries.

Have Fun...bigz

I think the interview went well. They asked if I would be interested in continuing schooling for Cnc programming and engineering so that kinda sounded promising. They had 6 more interviews to do today so we shall see. They said expect to hear something next week. They work 4 10 hour shifts which is pretty awesome in my book and their starting wage is 2-3 dollars more an hour than I currently get so that's a bonus too.

Nope this is a job in antigo as well. There's a potential for some training in redwing Minnesota. I need a new mailbox because someone this past summer smashed it in the middle of the night. Dam kids

I am a "Numeric Control Engineer" which is HR speak for CNC Programmer. I have no formal training but had 9 years operating between the last employer and this one and after a few failed attempts at training outside folks I was asked to apply for the programming position. Operating experience on the machines in question making the parts you will program is a HUGE benefit to learning to program. Programming can be pretty boring, IMO it is best if you can float between programming and operating. Floating back and forth to operating especially while training to program has the benefit of being able to catch your own mistakes which speeds to process of learning from them.

If an HR department wants you to have format training or the company is eager to pay for it go for it but I doubt it is of real value, on the job training will teach you far more than a classroom, sometimes though you need the classroom to get past HR.
