Cs, normally there is a spot on the top of a thread.i can push to follow it. I do not see that on your bash thread. But I was able to get into not

I agree with Jon on the be more firm. He probably does not yet realize you are telling him not to bark. Standing firmly in front of him to block his behavior will work well. Remember that dogs mostly work off of body language. Once he understands what you mean he will begin to associate your chosen word with the behavior you are expecting

It is just about official that we will now be a certified flock. Just need the lab results from the turkeys and then we will be set. All chickens and ducks passed with flying colors.
We have now officially counted the birds.UGH! That's a lot

We had the same testing done today and we came out clean. It was a good opportunity to treat the legs with oil while they were being held by someone else - sure is easier with 4 hands rather than 2.

How long did it take to get all of those birds tested?

Irish, try buying some cheap cooking oil spray, something thicker. (I haven't seen corn oil in a spray but that would be a good one). Then after they go to roost, just go down the line spraying their feet & legs. Works great.

couldn't you get corn oil and put it into a hand squeezer spray bottle ?
I'm sure you could. I just wonder how often it would clog up?

I just buy the generic vegetable oil spray. It works pretty darn good. It takes a good week to 10 days to kill those lil buggers, but I'd bet it would be quicker with a thicker oil if you could find it or wanted to try it in a spray bottle. Maybe I will try that in spring & see how it goes if I see anybody with scale issues.

So I found a salsa recipe that used canned tomatoes. I've never made salsa from anything but fresh everything. It's a restaurant style salsa and all you do is put everything in a food processor and let er' rip. I made a batch last night for cards and drinks with some company and it went over awesome. It's about a quart and a half when it's done and it was demolished. I'll post the recipe shortly when I dig it back out to make more

I'll have to try making that.
I agree,When I make my homemade chili,I always chop up fresh tomatoes (and all ingredients, for that matter). My chili is basically like your salsa (with a few tweaks) plus beans and ground beef. Then I just put it in a slow cooker all day.

then I went and picked up the pick up. Oil change, new serpentine belt and a pulley plus a few other minor adjustments.. $303.45 . this should take care of my battery problems for awhile.

I hope that fixes it. Was it the tensioner pulley that was replaced?

Not chicken related,but....I just got back from San Diego last night. One of my 5 sons graduated USMC bootcamp Friday.
I won't go into all details, but he did very well i.e. Squad leader, shot expert at the rifle range,2nd place in "ironman" competition in his Company. He already ranked up strait out of camp. Good to have him home on leave for awhile till he starts combat training. I also got to see another son, stationed at USMC Camp Pendelton (about 35 miles North of San Diego) while there.
Sorry, had to brag,I'm proud of my sons. (and Daughters too!)

I believe it was the idler pulley they replaced..
It took care of the problem for about 20 miles.
Sunday morning I decided to go to town for breakfast.
I got just to the city limits and my power steering quit.
then gradually the lights dimmed and finally the engine started heating up. I pulled off of the CTH and shut it off.
tried to start it,,,,,,,,,nothing,,
lifted the hood and the serpentine belt was broken..
I did hear a squealing, but I thought it was coming from the defroster fan..
got a tow truck and took it back to the fixit shop..
another $78.oo ride..

I suspect the air conditioner tightened up.. I was going to try to turn it, but it was too hot to touch..

I am going to have them just bypass the AC . I don't really need it fixed for what they cost ..
