Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good chilly sunday morning,

warming up here already,, 2 above ..

the chickens can wait until I finish my cuppa for their water.

holding steady at 4/5 eggs per day .. once in awhile we get 5/5, so they are all laying. just not all every day..

I checked the prices for chicks last night.

meaties will cost me $114.oo
special blacks $197.oo .
that's $311.oo just for chicks.
then I get a bang out of people when you tell them you want $10.oo for a mature chicken. and they try to chisel you down.

it takes a full ton (2000 pounds) of feed to get 100 meaties up to butchering size.
that's 20 pounds per bird.
@ $.30/lb that's $6.oo/bird plus the $1.15/chick cost,
now add in the housing, water and labor.
then if you butcher them, add in another $3.oo.
and there's your $10.oo with no profit .

tell the people that quibble to go to the super market and eat those hormone infested chickens.

there is a restaurant here in wausau that gives you whatever your age is , that percentage off your meal.
ie. age 50 - 50% off.
My mil always wanted to go there.. so we all did. her children and grandchildren , etc.. when she was 90 she got 90% off,, but a 90 pound 90 year old has no appetite.
she ordered a bowl of soup .. great !!
we all ordered regular meals.. the bill was about $200.oo.
where is the savings there ? LOL

My sister has a LARGE house. bedrooms all over the place. she lives alone. the bedrooms are for when her kids come to visit.. she would be better off to get a small apartment and pay for the kids to stay at a motel when they visit. that will never happen.
come to think of it, my oldest sister has a 5 or 6 bedroom house, too.. her kids live close, so they never (or seldom) stay over night.

OK budget 101 is over for today.

You talking about 2510??

I've probably been there a total of 10 times and I've never had a bad meal. Hands down best red potato salad and French onion soup

we went there a lot, too.. I still go to the little breakfast cafe at the rear of the place. good selection of coffee and pastries, as well as wholesome breakfasts, too..

I agree, never had a bad meal there either..

and I love their onion soup..
