Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Anyone going to the Fond Du Lac swap Saturday? Considering bringing a kid or two but really don't know what to expect. Chicken math is getting the better of me but I think the silkies could be happy with a couple polish pals.

BBP...that Gold hen is gorgeous!!

Waiting to candle my eggs in the incubator. Stuffed a bunch of eggs in there and hoping they all hatch. Thanks Terri and Heather for some eggs! My bantams are not laying yet which is the only rooster  I have right now.
Getting 4-7 eggs a day from a dozen girls. Hoping teh rain holds off so I can do the big clean this weekend. Would be so nice to get some yuck out of the coop.
Otherwise just busy with kids sports and family stuff. Still alot of family in and out of the area with parents on each side being sickly.

Cindy... get health soon! You need a break!

She's a buff blue columbian. My son showed her at the fair last year and got a champion ribbon. I have a very nice blue hen in there, but she had chicks last year during fair season so she got to stay home. FYI: bantam chicks only count as 1/3 of a chicken. Keep that in mind when adding your chickens up ;)

Check out the beauties I got today.

Hey all you chicken peeps, been a while since I've been on here. Nothing to say.....So am alot smarter than I was a year ago, with all ya'lls help......We got a brooder yesterday, and 23 more chicks. We got Buff Orpingtons(??sp), Black Astrolops(??sp) Barred Rocks and Silver Wyondottes. Cute little buggers. This morning when I checked them, one had some poo on her butt, so I cleaned it off as I remembered Jim telling me on here that ya had to do that.....other than clean water, food and heat, is there anything else I need to know of importance? My big girls are enjoying the weather as am I. Got my seeds started in flats in my bedroom with a grow light on them. Guess we are moving right along.

I was wondering where you were off to.

You soon will have to change your name to first100chic.

we won't be thinking about a garden up nort for quite a few weeks yet.

I still have to beg a load of manure from the neighbor.
