Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Brent, your chickens sound like what I did all day. go out, get rained on, wait for the sun, go back out, get rained on..

have 10 chicks hatched. only 43 more to go.
strange thing happening: all the eggs that hatched are from one tray. the other tray has no hatches. they both were on the same level in the bator..IDK

ETA: finally, during the night, an egg hatched from the other tray. too much movement to get a good count, but I am guessing 12 to 14 chicks. they look healthy and lively, so maybe it was the eggs fertility ? not a good hatch so far from 53 eggs.

going to get my hairs cut this morning. gotta look good for tomorrow.

Soaked up some overtime today. May as well with this dreary weather. Had some blrw's lined up but I haven't heard from the guy again. Guess it wasn't meant to be. Maybe I'll get myself a incubator and order some eggs off eBay.

got my hairs cut. dropped off 2 TV's .at best buy. they charge for it now. left them there anyway.

ate at Olive Garden. I didn't even know there was one near Wausau.
had shrimp alfredo. was very good, but i am not crazy about pasta.

came home. sprayed the drive V belt with belt dressing. doesn't slip any more..

15 chicks hatched so far. and it looks like they are about finished. 30% .
have to check the eggs for clears...

The chickens are doing fine. Getting a little closer to going outside, they just don't like the wind...and it's always windy here.
The wind is a major factor with my garden right now. I've had the wind break several of my tomato plants. Thank goodness I got an amazing deal on them, but I'm not hopeful for a huge gain from them this year.
I just want to be able to can enough tomato sauce to get us through the year. I'll be happy with that. If I get anything more out of my (not so) green (more like black) thumb, I'll be amazed and super pleased.
At least the chickens don't require black belt ninja level skills like the garden seems to. So far anyway...

My Red Star and four chicks she hatched herself! Production hens can go broody and my girl is living proof. She is an excellent mother!
