Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

well, I couldn't wait.. I took Ollie and dragged the strawberry patch. it was wet, but dry enough that I didn't spin the tires.
ended up kind of clumpy.

the incubator is back on. Jordan's mom brought 13 duck eggs, due to hatch in about a week. the hen got killed last night.
I sent the 3 ducklings from the last hatch home with her. yaaaay !!

put the puppies on Puppy Find. had two calls already..both from New York

Just have the outside cooker set for fish fry Friday...gonna be fish and fries at it's best here in cheeseland. Pull up a chair and enjoy a cold longneck while the fries are becoming golden brown....the fish takes mere seconds to become curled golden bites.

bigz

yep, fish fry tonight.. maybe I will have the waitress throw them to me so I can say I caught them..

I pulled weeds from 3 rows of corn this afternoon. only 3 rows left to do.

a long neck sounds good right now.
maybe I better take a shower first..

Beautiful Saturday morning everyone!
Whew! Finally caught up with all of you! Jim, you are one busy guy! Bigz those fish sound absolutely yummy. Between the BIL's funeral, all the family and medical travels, the family visiting us and just trying to get things done outside we haven't went fishing once yet this year. Really hoping to get out in the boat when the colors start to turn and all the tourists go home.
Another cuppa then heading to the big city (Rhinelander) to get some much needed shopping (and a little bumming) done for groceries and some needed PVC pipe etc. to do the last bit of finish work on the new coop addition and grow out pen then I can finally get those chicks out of my front bedroom.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
(Jim, I so wish we had the room for one of those beautiful pups!)

Vicki, I wish we had room for 10 of these puppies.. LOL
wouldn't they make a handsome dog sled team?

today I have to get the strawberry bed prepared.
yesterday I had to stop DD from going ahead and planting. the ground is not ready to my specifications yet. I have certain criteria about row spacing (and straightness) that she doesn't give a rat's a--ss about.
I'm the one who will be doing the cultivating.

for someone going into summer with no particular projects, I sure am getting swamped.
I have to do the garden, that was my only goal besides mowing the grass..
I have to tear down the lean to and rebuild it after I pour a concrete slab.
then we ordered four new windows for all the bedrooms. they are at Menard's waiting to be picked up.
then all this extra tomato and strawberry planting for DD. and I still haven't planted my grapes.
it's a good thing that God won't take you until all your projects are completed..:lau:old
.

good afternoon,
I dragged the strawberry bed a couple of times today. still a little wet and sticky. clumpy.
I will go at it again before it rains, I hope..

I got two rows of corn sprayed with fish fertilizer and then I hilled them.

I have 3 rows to weed , yet, but if I don't get them done, they should still be OK. I have 6 rows done.
there are weeds only between the plants, the rototiller got everything in between the rows.

I am getting many responses about the puppies from Puppy Finder .

anybody find a bag of beets hanging on your door handle lately ?? I have,, thanks GG..
I didn't hear you knock.. I fell asleep watching TV
In fact I didn't hear Randy go into the kitchen and fix his own supper.
Frankie was in the house. usually she barks if
somebody knocks..
I really have to install a door bell..

while I was hilling the corn today, I noticed my five guinea roosters making their way along the potato row. some on each side. eating bugs off of the plants as they went. they went the whole 190 feet of row.
I hope they keep it up every day.
they follow me to the garden when I go.
it's like having a pack of dogs.
