I just asked the same question to my gardening friend. He says peas will bolt if planted at this time, not making good peas and pods but going straight to seed. For fall harvest, plant mid to late August.
I dont know if he is right or not, he is in Milwaukee area so different zone than me. I am planting peas on Friday and using a shade cloth. Peas produce in 60 to 70 days, that would be end of October if I planted end of Aug. it will frost by then. Wish me luck.

Milwaukee might see some lake effect also.
I think going to try planting some snap peas about Aug 10th see what happens. We are not short on seeds. Peas can take light frost, could cover or try to cover if hard frost.

I just found the stash of window sheers that I removed from every window of this house when we moved in. I read that it makes a good row cover material - so that is what I am going to use for my peas.

Anyone here ever planted sugar snap peas in summer for fall harvest?

I have not but wanted to try, but I always seem to forget and then it is too late.

Never tried the sugar snap peas for a fall planting, but i always plant radish and spinach for fall harvest, and for whatever reason my spinach and radish always produce a better fall crop.
Did harvest 3lbs of small zukes and a couple pickles. How wonderful those fresh cukes taste! The zukes were baked with onions and tomatoes with Italian seasoning and topped with parmesan cheese .... it was delish.

I always liked fresh small zuke, we have not grown it in a few years now, next year maybe I should throw some in with the sweet corn around the edges, heck all need is 1 or 2 plants.

We sure have picked a lot of snap peas

We didnt do snap peas this year but a few years ago we did and we had so many that alot went bad even though we gave away like 10 big bags full.

I think I would plant peas as late in the summer that I could. They like it cool. I don't think a little frost would hurt them . I will ask a friend who plants fall crops. IDK if he does peas .
I started the mower up. It ran. but after I turned it off, it would not start again. flooded. I have a hunch the electric sensor on the bowl is shot. I have no way to test it. that is, I don't know how to test it. I am thinking of just buying a new carb. I can get one for around twenty dollars.
it rained off and on . didn't amount to very much.

It was raining on and off here to. We planted field peas a little late this year and they are taking off so im hoping we get some soon.

Sorry to hear about mower, but it ran. SO that is good.
Coil came for my push weedwhacker, installed started right up. Ordered a new aircleaner from farm and barn pick that up today.
WIll be ready to go today, should line up a oil change for it this summer.
Peas from what I read can goto 28 degrees, but at that weather if blossomed could lose the blossoms so need to cover.
Had some rain this morning, brief but sounded like came down hard.
Looks like some chances of rain coming over the next week 23rd possible severe storms hummm.

Ohh if you have a multi meter you can check to make sure you are getting power to your carb switch. The switch you may be able to do a ohm test.

ok, I found out how to test in on youtube
just turn on the key and listen for it to click. It is a solenoid like on a starter. clicks on and off. Mine didn't click. I do have power in that wire.
I started the mower without the carb on.
It ran as long as I fed it fuel. sounded real good.
by the time frost comes, usually, the peas should be well past blossoms.
