Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

the carb is here. It actually came on Monday. it was addressed to my grandson. so I didn't know and didn't open the box.
anyway, the fuel inlet is on the engine side of the carb, the throttle plate binds on the intake manifold. and the fuel solenoid is so long it just
BARELY clears the frame brace. I can live with everything except the binding throttle plate. I will sleep on it.

well that sucks sounds aftermarket.
Wife found the mower working, and there she goes.
update: I did a stupid thing.
I had the carb backwards. The choke spring was disconnected so the choke plate was spinning loose as if it was the throttle plate. boy, do I feel dumb
I managed to get the spring back on
now I am charging the battery.

Sounds like something I would do lol

It sucks when everything is set right and then it doesn't work.
I double checked all the steps to make it run. it should. but it doesn't seem to be getting any fuel. I can start it with starting fluid. and if I pour gas right into the opening at the choke, I can keep it running. I suspect the float valve is stuck closed.. on a brand new carburetor though ????? I suppose it can happen

fuel filter, try fuel line see if it is open letting gas thru to carb, fuel air ratio screw on carb?
does the carb have a main jet screw?
I have fuel right up to the carb inlet.
no main jet screw. It has a fuel solenoid. It works. It has to be the float..
when I get it running, it sounds just great.
this is what Miller Time was invented for. lolol
