I have ordered Sunnyside 3 different times and have had good luck with them. I think they are just as competitive in price with chicks and shipping as other hatcheries. Also since they are being shipped they are closer.
Benefit of farm fleet dont pay shipping.

think I might get Orpingtons and Wyandotte this year order from Farm Fleet

I may go through them they have 2 of the duck breeds i want. Also i am going to be getting 2 more chickens. My orpington is good, only went broody once and layed up until she went broody and she just finished her molt. My wyandotte is a good layer to, but she has been molting for over a month now . I got all mine a Farm and Fleet.

I have lav orp's as part of my flock. The hatching eggs came from Robin and Terri.
They are really lay back birds. The roo's are gentle birds. I'm also thinking of adding new chicks to the flock this year. Prolly at least doz or more. Trying to decide if I'm going to hatch or order from Sunnyside. I do like a mixture of egg colors in the cartons.

one year I ordered started pullets from sunnyside.
only one out of six made it to winter. unbeknown
to me there was an eagle visiting us . sure,
don't take the mixed breeds ..

I bought 15 "female" chicks this summer from the new Tractor supply in Oconto. 9 buff orpingtons and 6 silver laced Wyandots (not sure on the spellings, lol). One of the Orpingtons turned out to be a "he", but so far he has been a really calm rooster. As long as he behaves, he gets to stay. He attacked me once when I was checking for eggs and startled the hen that was in the nest box. He gets a pass on that one because he was protecting his gal who was being all "drama queen" about it. The next day he attacked me again and I explained the rule of don't attack the food lady. Strike one. He has given me space ever since our talk.
The 14 gals are laying 4 to 6 eggs each day. I'm happy with that. They are in the barn and don't get extra light, so I call that a win. My new co-workers were complaining about the price of eggs and I mentioned that I really appreciated my flock of chickens right now. I had a couple of offers to buy eggs from me. Sorry, I don't sell eggs. Not licensed for it, don't want the hassle. If I have extra I will take them a dozen.

Wyo, do you need a license to sell eggs in Wisc?
I never had one.
when I worked in engineering at GTE I used to sell
eggs to a fellow worker. less than the store prices.
then just before Easter, eggs went on sale at the
stores. He bought those eggs, then. after the price
in the store went back to normal. he asked me to
bring him some eggs. I told him that they still sell
eggs at the store. I never sold him another egg.
when I worked at a grocery store when I was in
high school, farmers sold eggs to the store. the
checkout girls candled them and put them into
cartons. there were many embryos tossed out.

I didnt realize that you needed a license to sell eggs, i just hand out my extra ones and one lady refuses to take them without paying. I dont know if i could get ducks or chickens from tractor supply the closest one is over 1 hour away.

Yep, Jim's right about not needing a license to sell your eggs.

I went to the feed mill yesterday to buy some whole corn. 200lbs
cost me $31. Fleet/Farm wanted $50 for 200lbs. I can buy 300lbs at the mill for
$46.50 plus get $3.50 back in change. Well worth stopping at the mill. The layer feed is also $5 a bag less at the mill for higher protein and fresher feed.

In my experience pullets will lay all winter without additional light their first year.

the feed mill in Marathon City gets chicks from
Sunnyside. Maybe a feed mill near you does also.
I had to order the pullets in the spring for fall
pick up.
