Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I use the pressure gauge on my airchuck which I put air into tire, never had problem with water or the salt solution going into air chuck.

I have never used just a air gauge to check the tire pressure.

Have the valve stem on top and push the needle valve in see if fluid comes out. You may need a air gauge which will take fluid. Also I have read should really should lift tire off ground, jack tractor up , valve stem up. I never have.

The pressure of the tire should be on the side of tire, that is what I use anyway. right or wrong? I have never jacked up tractor.

Checked my hives last week when it was in the upper 40’s. Two are still churning along, one did not make it. I swear these bees put NO honey away at all…. there was nothing in the hive that died, they were eating the sugar cakes I had left for them. None of the hives produced any honey in the supers this year either….

I did give the two remaining hives some sugar cake, and was promptly stung for my efforts.

Pic is of the dead out.

sorry to hear about your bees

Hey if I manage to get any hives to survive to the spring I will be ecstatic. I have been keeping bees for 5 years and have never had them make it through a winter. This is the longest stretch I have ever kept them alive. ☺️

Just a note on bees flying around in the winter: bees do not poo in their hives, so on warm winter days they will leave the hive to relieve themselves. They do not always make it back to the hive before they get too cold to fly. I know a guy here that keeps his bees in a homemade walk in cooler that maintains a temp of 38* all winter long. He keeps a red light on so he can work (add feed) but to the bees they are under darkness for 5 months. Great solution if you can afford it……

I have ordered rangers from Sunnyside, WI company. I try to support WI if reasonable. I am going to order Rangers from them this year.

Farm and Fleet, They order from cackle
https://www.farmandfleet.com/chick-days/

In Lacrosse Mon or Tues if they have a lot of chicks, ducks, not picked up orders etc not selling they drop the price. It is a non advertised special. It is hit and miss to get the deals.
They usually go fast once reduced. Maybe the other Farm Fleets do the same?

Neighbor's son down the road picked up 10 turkeys and some chicks last year for 2 dollars and tax, the person(who ever) had paid and ordered, were notified order came in and never picked up their order.
My neighbor he was trying to sell me couple turkeys last fall, he butchered them all.
