Happy New Year, I had a 99 cent fireball whiskey. First and last time I will buy one.
Chickens having field day in the dirt and sand where snow melted, southern exposure.
Getting 5 to 6 eggs day, going to start shopping for new hens see what variety I want. Not sure I will hatch this year.
Back to picking corn, problems along the way and cold weather had to pivot to other things. Set back up grinding station today, shelled about 225 pounds corn yesterday.

I know what you mean about the cold weather.
I didn't plow the last snow with Ollie. Too cold for me.
Had Bob come in with his truck and push the snow around.
My left axle seal is leaking. I will just keep adding fluid.
had an estimate to get it repaired. $1300.oo... I can add lots
of fluid for that amount. I will do something about it after spring.

yes still picking the field corn. Hitting the deer with vehicle and couple other unfortunate things, cold weather ruined my plans. Was picking corn today and wife came over and helped, had full s10 load today. Grinded corn filled 32 gallon garbage container today. Good for at least a month.
To think the old days and Amish now pick acres of corn by hand. uff duh
Shoulders are getting sore from back pack, no padding on straps.
Sorry to hear about the Oliver, rear seals I did on 8n years ago not to bad, but still a hassle, fluid filled tires, some press work done for bearing sleeves on axle if that is correct term.

I helped pick acres of field corn by hand when I
was a kid. It was a better job than picking rocks.
I also walked behind a horse pulling a single row
cultivator. I didn't mind that either. I drove a
four horse team dragging the field. I got to
ride on that job..
If my tires weren't filled with fluid, I might
have fixed the seals myself. with someone's help.

Yup the fluid filled tires are a bugger specially if you have to man handle them. Which I did 30 years ago with the 8n. I would not do it today though.

I feel lucky if I can pull my shoe laces tight.
looks like some bad weather coming.
I hope the electricity doesn't go out again.
since the last storm, it has flickered off once or
twice, but comes right back on.
too bad about that football player getting
hurt last night. I have the hit on vcr. he took
a helmet to the chest. stopped his heart.

Luckily our power didnt go out yet this winter. Our town is horrible about it about once a month usally. And it last a day or 2. Hope everyone can stay safe in the weather, its all ice here. I wasnt watching the football game, but i certainly hope he is ok.

we just got home from town.
it rained all the way in and all the way home.
according to my weather app, it is not supposed
to freeze. I hope that is so, because we have to
go back in , in a little while.
TOR, no harvesting corn today, eh ?
