A friend at work had a personal emergency and will be gone for at least 2 weeks. I am now the caretaker for his incubator and 9 eggs, lol.
I asked how many days they have been baking and he wasn't sure - maybe 7 or 8 he said.
Off to the hatching forum to get advice, I have never incubated eggs and I would hate to kill these, he is emotionally invested already.

Moved the girls into the coop this evening. Went much better than expected. Just wandered outside, not a sound from them. .

That must mean that the coop is done??

Coop and run are complete! Today is their first day in the run, and they are loving it!

Mine learned it on their own. As soon as the roost was in they were sleeping on it...

we have been getting rain, on and off, since
Friday afternoon. that's good, it gets a chance
to soak in.
I watered my tiny raised bed real thoroughly yesterday.
all I have in it are two roma tomatoes, one cherry tomato
and a Thai basil.
my rain barrel doth over flow.

We got lots of rain last night and its been sprinkling on and off today. Went out and checked on my corn, and it looks like someone took 2 of the stalks and broke them.

MAMA hen, put them up there yourself, they will figure it out eventually. I have 3 little ones which have not figured it out yet, but they may not be big enough to get to the roost.

They will get there. I put them up sometimes.
