Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Going to Amherst Poultry Swap and Lifest today.
I got my first used Brinsea from the owner there, Michelle, a few years ago. We've gone to that one a half dozen times or so. My hubby played guitar at a few of them. Last year the Amish started doing one in Marion. Amherst is an hour; theirs is about 20 minutes.

Eagle Eyes, the fox are weaning the kits (little ones) now and are trying anything to find enough solid food for them. The adults get really brazen this time of year.
We really were dumped on with rain again yesterday and this morning. The gardens are really soaked to the max.

Stay Safe ... bigz

Keeping my chickens locked up most day myself, my milk house not good shape the coon got in missing 3 or 4 more i think.they found a week spot. more the younger ones. I have red hen either afraid to go back to barn and roost or sitting on eggs in woods. Not sure.
Got 3 traps reset, keep setting untill i dont get any more coon.
They just dont give up.
Fertilized my field down road before rain push into soil. No shortage rain, storm damage south of me I guess. People without electricity trees down.
Could stop raining now

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer weather we are having.
The hens are still locked in their pen to keep them safe. They are not happy about it but staying alive works for me.
Picked my first 3 tomatoes today. My grilled venison burger gets a slice or 2 tonight!

same here, cherry and big boys. lots of them on, but still green.
It looks like I will be using the water from the rain barrels for the raised beds.
a little rain forecast for Monday,,,,,maybe.
I raised the barrels on the east side of the porch , 5" , between the two barrels that should give me about 15 gallons more water to use.

Been getting some tomatoes here now for abit, new variety sweet corn coming soon. Had younger ear yesterday, getting close. Killed 3 coon traps fell silent except for a possum. Shut down trapping line. First broody hen early spring is sitting again. I gave her 6 eggs.
Had so much rain wanted it to stop, sidedressed last crop corn with nitrogen all the rain clouds go around me now last couple weeks, go figure.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Wish I could send you a shower or two TOR. We can't get the rain to stop. Really poured on yesterday evening here, and the gardens are really soaked again. I hate to pack our heavy soil down by walking in it, but I have to harvest what is ready.
The lawn grows like weeds too. The trees are really enjoying the moisture after last year's drought.
FFF tonight is salmon patties with fresh slaw from our cabbage.

Stay Safe ... bigz
