OMG---that pot roast was the BEST! Even my 18 year old that HATES it had 2nds! I did something a little different this time. Browned the roast in oil and then put carrots on one side and potatoes on the other, onion on top. Then I saw 2 packets left over from Ramen Noodle Soup (one chicken and one Oriental) so I thought "what the heck?" and sprinkled that on. Then S&P and some Italian grinder spice stuff. Then added water until I could see it coming up, covered it and let 'er cook in the over for 1 1/2 hours. SOOOO good and it was even tender! Man, I have to remember to do that next time when DH is home...he loves pot roast too! OK--I need to go to bed...lots of work tomorrow! Good night and Sweet Dreams ALL! TErri O

Good Morning-well Blue has 3 babies that we can see: 2 yellow and 1 black, not sure what might be under her-if fact she peck me a couple times as we looked at the babies. I am adding a picture that shows the one baby.

Have a good one!

Looking forward to meeting you all in person on Saturday in Fondulac. We will only be there until 915 because we are going house shopping again at 10:00. I will be manning the books table and I have a friend of mine that We will be working together with on selling some of our chicks.

oh the babbies are just too cute ... hoping we have some in 21 days .. put eggs in last night so the first 10 days are going to be tough as we have to wait and see if they are good or not .... we are starting with 20 eggs .... kids are way excited cant wait to have some fuzzy butts tooo...... yours are way to adorable

Kool Aid Queen- which one of your hens lays the eggs like you show in your avitar picture- my 4 year old thought they were neat....here we go again! Good luck with hatching your eggs-my DH says that the first 20 days are boring:rolleyes: but he's right in there helping candle and watching with the rest of us!!

BTW Terry O I over heard the 4 year old talking to himself again and his number of chicks keeps going up, never mind the fact that he only had 3 eggs:lau

Good morning! Those turkeys are too cute! I have only had them as half grown...that "ugly stage."

Blue did a fine job...I bet the others are hiding under her feathers! Or she might be waiting for an egg or two to hatch. When she decided it is a bad one then she will take the babies off the nest. That is my very favorite part when they start to explpore with the Mom! Nothing cuter than watching them bopping along in the grass! I wonder what mixes those little chickies are....?

Sure wish we had a little sun today! Did anyone go outside late last night? It was positively gorgeous! I think about 51 here and no wind. I was wishing that it wasnt so muddy 'cause I would have taken my beer out and sat in a chair just to soak in the almost spring smells! The robins are everywhere...but what is that rhyme? 3 times snow on the back? I cant remember it. My grandma used to say it every year when we saw the first robin. Does anyone remember it? I will have to ask my girls to find it on the puter...they are good at that!

Well, time to get off and start my day...I dislike Thursdays as a rule...too much work and I get home too late! Thank goodnes it will be daylight savings time next week! Have a great day! Terri O

Hens and Roos I know you must have said it before but what is "Blue"? My broody looks like har but she's a little smaller and is a Blue Rock.

My 4yr's eyeballs bugged out yesterday. I was showing him the egg with the pip in it and the little beak in the whole and it peeped at him.

It was great! He understood that the chicken comes from the egg, but never understood why when you crack one open, it was yellow and no chickie. Now he got to see first hand the chickie out of the egg. PRICELESS!

fordmommy We're not sure what she is either to tell you the truth, we found her on craig's list and they didn't really know either. Several people have looked at her and mentioned Dorkings because of the comb and 5 toes on each foot and maybe a silkie cross as well.

Is your Blue Rock a bantam as well, do you have pictures of her?
