BCC Oh I like the blue! Very pretty!
Cedar Post also very cute chicks!

So happy today one of the girls at the nursing home I go to said that she wants some chicks this spring/summer. That means I get to hatch more!!

She wants them to be feathered out so I get to be with them the best part.
My polish chick is losing some feathers? I moved them just now to a bigger home so that they are not picking on each other. Hopefully that was it. Otherwise any guesses as to why she is losing tail feathers? It looks like some are broken off before I got her. Or maybe she was picked on before I got her. Hoping it's a her anyway. I think she is about 4 or 5 weeks. Also can I put ACV in their water or are they to young. The youngest is a week. Thanks in advance!

cedar post, You let me know if any of your BLRW are for sale. I'll be there in a heart beat. Still looking for them.

Well, I only had to work half a day today, so I was puttering around the yard, working on the coop, and a friend calls me and says his niece has some chicks she'd like to part with. Now, we just picked up 10 this past weekend, but this yong lady has some show americaunas and some gold laced wyandottes....hmmm. So I hop in the car for a nice little early spring drive with the sun roof open, and meander over to their farm which is just a hop skip and a jump from mine. And sure enough, she's got a bunch of silkies (which she's gonna have hatching April 1 or so), and beautiful americaunas and GLW. So I had to grab two, I mean what the heck. So I just added them to the brooder and they fit in quite nicely and I'm hoping that Mom doesn't notice that the head count has increased a tad...if she does, I think I might try the "well, Miracle of Miracles!!!" routine. The GLW is a full week older than the other chicks so the jig will be up but quick. These chicks are so loud in the sunroom as I type this I can barely hear myself think!

Hmmmm. It's all down hill from here, eh?

Man you guys suck soo much! All those beautiful chicks! I want some WAAAA! Put my lifting brackets on the tractor and got the guide brackets figured out for tomorrows project at work. Am tossing around an idea to make a piece of angle iron work for the skid plate and stiffen the blade at the same time. I was out there in the sun havin fun and it came to me. A beer should would go good about now. I was right!

BCC nice pic love the chicks in the cup. If you can post a pic of the Faverolles when they hatch I would like to see them.
I acctually seen two butterflys today in the woods. Is this normal? They were the dark almost purple with yellow near the end of their wings.
