Doc congrats on the walking papers to the best time of your life. You'll be glad you did. I retired at 48 and never looked back. Seems like you have the perfect attitude for what's the most important. Sure there is an adjustment period. It's like a dog chained to the dog house for years and years. Unclip the chain, and he doesn't have a clue what to do. It's easy to figure out...having your life....PRICELESS!

I was hoping to go to Wega but it's about 2 hours away. I would have to get up at 4 to get there. Not happening. The weather is ugly! It looks like it is going to storm bad and the wind is unbearable! Of course I have to go pick up one of the girls at 730 so you know thats when it will be pouring. So for everyone that has teenagers, do they ever stop dreaming and start doing? I went down to the barn this afternoon and the water trough was full but there was a thick layer of slug on top?! I personally like to empty them once a day and refill. We have 2 one for the horses which is a 55 gallon drum and a black short water trough for the goats. All the anmials have access to both at all times. Well today I let the oldest take care of the animals and went into work early. Guess I'm not doing that again.

Makes my head hurt. She use to be the one I could count on when things needed to get done, now not so much. Hopefully she will grow out of this too. Thanks for letting me rant. It just drives me up the wall and I can only imagine that if I was gone tomorrow how this place would look.

You people are the best!!!! Bigz I'm going at 55 and know that getting back more in touch with real life will make me a happier being. My goal is to understand and to appreciate the things that I've ignored and took for granted for way too long. To me that's a sin it's like killing a mockingbird. When I was younger things were different. As I got older it came to me that truth and honesty is the the only way to live. That my friends is the route to a good life. BBCB Can't believe you'd actually burn all of that. Well I guess I can. Figure out what the cost will be and PM me. I refuse to do this until your paid! If your coming to the First Annual Bigzio Bash bring them then. I'll cry. I forgot to tell you all before. I came in the house to grab a beer and grabbed a japalino string cheese for a snack. I was tearing off very small pieces for the kids and I was blindsided. Don't know who it was but all of a sudden there was a chicken running like a linebacker with the string cheese lengthwise in it's beak. A red/brown chicken with a white 5" hunk o cheese floppin in front of it as it ran. I almost tipped over from laughing! It was soo darn funny!!! You had to be there! A deer just came up the back road towards the yard and Peaches put himself in between the deer and the girls and kept moving towards the deer until the deer moved off out of his space. It got down to about 30' with Peaches on the offense. Smart deer moved off, coulda lost a throat. That's my boy!

I'm back, Wow you guy's are yappy around 10 pages, i'm going to have to read it when I'm more awake, started back yesterday at 3:45 am our time and stopped around 8 pm in Marion Il, left this morning around 8 and got home around 5 or so.

We were the first people to the swap today. I wanted to beat the rain and we did. Just as we were leaving to started.

Since I didn't go on the computer this morning or even last night, I missed out on all those who were coming. I saw Babylady4 of course. And Tyler. And my friend from Manawa. But I missed Jim and Bigzio because we left at 7:30ish. And I hadn't gotten the Email from Jim with his #.

Next time we will all make better plans.

I picked up a few things. I got another book from Tyler and some egg cartons for dirt cheap and 1 Easter Egger month old and 1 SLW month old to keep the first company. Both pullets.

And a cage to put them in. $4.00. I was looking for a Bobwhite pal for Peanut. But I didn't see any quial.

Raining now. I know we need it, but I got stuff to do.

Morning All!!!!! What day is it? Just practicing. Great analogy Bigz! I've seen that happen a few times. Then when the dog finally realizes he's not chained anymore he's gone! Fishin maybe. Hmmm. Becky I have to down load some pics off the camera to see if I got "B" running off with the cheese, it was hilarious! Neat looking birds. BCC Yup! Help help I've started talking and I can't shut up! Glad you had a safe trip! Ended up with 3/10ths" of rain here. Had to take the bucket off the chimney to warm things a little this morning. Temp rain cap. Guess I'd better concentrate on fixing the bent up one in the garage. Rain forecast for most of next week. We need it. Was thunkin about the tiller last night might just be dirt in the gas tank. It'll run for a few minutes then starves out, if I hand choke it it keeps running. If I move it it starts to die. We'll see. Suns coming out gotta go.

Will 3 silkie roosters be okay by themselves in a HUGE coop, before my soon to be chicks grow up? Will they be nice to the ladies, if they are younger?
Someone wants to get rid of 3 silkie roosters and these littel guys are SO SWEET!! BUT......I don't have any chickens yet. Only 7 day old ducklings in a brooder in my house. My day olds won't be here until May 6th.
Do roosters do okay by themselves?
