Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cedar, what kind of birds do you have? I figured since you need to cut back and you're practically in my backyard... DH isn't on to me yet

At this time I have blrw, blue splash and black of various sizes and a few columbian wyandottes. I also have a blue rooster and I think four blue hens from last year that are laying. I may be selling a pair or trio of my blue laced red's from last year. I'm starting a project and need some room or need more coop space if anyone needs any hens or pairs let me know.

Hi everyone-what a cold and rainy day today, went to the zoo with our DS(5) with his 4k class-rained all day and the animals weren't out much as well. Kids seemed to enjoy it but we returned home cold and finally just starting to get warmed up.

All our birds are getting bigger and we haven't lost any more-in fact the one acting weird was actually trying to take a dust bath. Our turkeys are so funny to watch these days, with their silly antics.

Stay dry and warm everyone!

Evening to all... the cool weather has it's spell on us for awhile, eh. I guess we can expect that here though.

Best of luck on your new project cedar post. Care to share what's up?

Sure is kinda crappy weather for city wide rummaging, unless you want to be the one getting the good buys.

Stay Safe.... ~ bigzio

Bigzio it's a basic color project I know a guy from down south that has very good columbian wyandottes and I'm doing a buff columbian color project in large fowl. So far it's been very interesting.

Going to Seymour swap tomorrow to see what that one is like. Have a great evening and stay warm!! SNOW uugghh

Yep weather was YUCK today. Really wanted to finish the coop but alas mother nature had other intentions.

BBCB- It was nice to chat with you on the phone. We'll meet up soon!

Morning to all! Not going to say GOOD. But it could be worse. Looks like we're in for a cold wet stretch. That'll give me time to make batches of chili, chicken noodle soup, and bread for the freezer. A couple white patches out there, it was coming down pretty good about dark. Today is a bread making day and I want to get the brooder box set up plus a few thousand other things. FM good for you and your diet and for getting your hubby a nice present. CP that sounds like a really neat project. Be sure to post some pics! Stay warm!

Cooking up a storm today!!!!

Cheesecake in the oven, have bread dough to make, homemade baked beans, some slaw, jello, Rhubarb something (I have not decided yet), and at some point I have to sit down with my Analytial Chemistry textbook and do a massive review.

The Budgies are having a good morning flying about the Living room while my youngest DS plays the Wii. One decided to crash land into a big vase, thankfully when I fished him out he did not decide to chomp down on my hand!

FM, way to go!!!!

Well, back to the grind, enjoy this wonderful very CHILLY day! (What Global warming???)

Hello all! Crappy weather these past two days. Thats ok it made me stay in and do school work. If I would just buckle down and do it all at once it only takes a couple of hours. But instead I put it off. Oh well I'll learn.
So I had one of my silver pencil hens go missing, I searched everywhere for her or for a pile of feathers. Nothing. DH says she's sitting somewhere and will be back in 3 weeks. So yesterday I go down and there she is! I pick her up and give her a hug. Feed her some BOSS as a treat. Go collect eggs and she's gone! I can't find her anywhere! Sneaky little booger! So in 2 weeks I'll probably have more chicks. I either have to build a bigger coop or sell some of my babies. Dh says this is the only coop I get so....
Oldest DD has an endurance ride tomorrow so thats what we will be doing. Wish the weather would be better. I'm kinda a wuss when it comes to that damp/cold weather. Hopefully we will have the sun.
Hello to all that are new and also good luck to all who are in the hunt for a new job! finger crossed for you guys.

Take care everyone! Stay warm!

BL4 Great day for cooking/baking! Dough is a risin. I was thinking about my raising problem maybe wasn't kneading it long enough. I timed it today, no wonder G'ma was tired every night. Everytime I make bread or egg noodles I get a smile on my face thinking about how many loaves of bread were pounded out on the table or how many flour sacks were used to roll out and dry noodles. I was eyeballin the 20lb bags of flour last trip to the store. Need to find a container. L's on the run for soup/chili fixins. Chick soup doesn't take long but my chili takes all day. A lot of taste testing and palette cleansing.

The spinach and lettuces are coming up along with onions. Was just thinking of growing some cellery, anyone know if it freezes? I wouldn't think so, we freeze the leaves for soups in the winter. A little more freedom creeps into my tiny brain each day. I catch myself grinning over the smallest things more. I LOVE IT!!! Thinking of using my cinnamon roll recipe for cin/raisin bread, any suggestions? Becky sure sounds like a nest somewhere, glad she showed up to eat. Are they going to be penciled or a mix? Just checked the dough, not rising like it should will give it extra time. Very aggravating! The breads turn out very good but not as airy as they should. Will start storing the yeast in the fridge even unopened. Just had another thought I've been letting them rise on top of the freezer maybe the vibration from it running is messing with it.
