Geesh - I must be the only one who's not at work or outside enjoying the sunshine today!

Someone who bought some Runner ducklings from me awhile back send me a video of them today - they're so much prettier than my pair of Runners that they came from! They stand so straight and tall! I really ought to charge more for them!

Well, I'm off to Noah's Ark - not to swim (I wish!), I'm meeting a 4-H group from down by Milwaukee, one of the girls is taking home some Runner ducklings. I gave her a ridiculous deal on them, but I like seeing younger people like me so into raising birds.

And then I'm off to the Animal Shelter to pick up another litter of kittens. I enjoy fostering them, but gosh, I wish there weren't so many unwanted kittens to foster.

Good Aft. all! What a day so far! Went out to let the girls in the run and check the SLW's about 6:30. Here were the SLW's in with the big girls, they squeezed through my temporary access portal cover into the main coop. Last evening I let 3 hens in with them to get better aquainted, no major problems. So I just opened the portal cover and let them have at it. The big girls were in eating the chicks food and the Slw's were eating the mash. Went to the yeast store town but Copps didn't have any rapid rise yeast couldn't believe it so bought some SAF. That was the only thing they had other than Red Star. But the package said satisfaction guaranteed!!! Went and got my ears lowered and did a bunch of shopping at TSC. Going back to Dumor feed to see if it will improve egg laying. Getting 6- 8 for 9. Would like to see it better. Came home and things were pretty good with the kids nobody bleeding and let out the big girls. Came back later to check and here were the black and whites up on everyplace that's possible. Not little snots anymore. So Big So Big! Anyway made the bread, looked after half an hour, 45 min. 1 hour not much change and I was gettin mad! So I moved it from the back porch to the front on the south side. Another hour it rose nicely seems it wasn't warm enough. Now in 2 pans and its rising. Fresh bread and fresh salads and ? for supper. Maybe just salads and a slice. Life is good again! Still! Wind has picked up but looks like the worst is going to miss us.

Hi everyone, just got up from cutting a deer food plot and seen a young fawn I kicked up. First I've seen in a couple years back here. Everything is now up in the garden and looking good. Trying to keep the rabbits out I've found that the half grown chicken chase the rabbits in the eve around the yard and now there isn't as many bunnies noiticed in the yard.

Looks like everyone is staying very busy. Drhaha having your ears lowered stay out of the sun for any length of time or you'll have blisters.

Just looked at the radar; you guys down south take cover! Looks nasty down there!

Worked at the University today, and now trying to FINALLY get at that darn tile!

I want to get it ALL done at the same time so I can grout and seal it all at once as well......

CP thanks for the warning but have been down that road. Think the worst burn is on the top of your feet from being on the boat deck without shoes. Don't care how stupid it looks I now at least wear socks. Waited forever for the bread to cool enough to slice! Come on, Come on! Worth the tortured wait! Even tried to give L the first heel, she said that she prefered a center slice. Think she's lyin or there's something wrong with her. Nah! She just talked to her mom in Delevan and it already passed and was just a T storm. Things to do. Hope you all had a good day! Too!

Been busy with the rummage sale. This time we didn't advertise but we're still doing okay.

And I leave you guys for 24 hours and WHAT happens????I have to read 2 1/2 pages of posts!

Man--a lot of huffin' and puffin' and not that much rain! I went to get a man his dinner at 4 and he was already in bed! He thought it was night time! I guess you get confused when you cant see well and you are 101....oh oh--DH just hit something with the lawn mower that stopped it dead...sure hope I didnt leave a shovel out there!

I made a fantastic looking sub-sandwich earlier for supper and we will have that along with a garden salad. I am picking the early stuff and taking the plants out...they are about done. The later stuff is going good still. Made some coleslaw for out picnic on Sunday and got some chicken drums to grill...just didnt feel like making hamburger patties! We meet some friends up at Devil's Lake for Fathers' Day every year and have a cook out. Maybe I will have the energy to climb the bluff this year...

The parrots are playing with their toys. It is very comical to watch. One likes to hang upside down and chew on the rope knots. The other day he was sitting on the swing and made a flip! He is very acrobatic! Now his is hanging by his feet and looks like a big green bat! Sure wish he liked me more...

Now that the storm has rolled on thru it is getting lighter out there...maybe I will go and get some weeding or planting done. THe humidity seems to have abated a bit too--thank Goodness! Talk to you all tomorrow! Terri O

(PS) DrH--Loved the pic of the cats suntanning! Man, you have to start playing with them more...they look like they need the kitty treadmill!

Hey, amyable - Tell Julie to hold off on getting some girl ducklings - I just got an e-mail from someone who bought two ducklings identical to hers a few months ago, and one of them turned out the be a girl!

Which means that the drake that Sandhill Preservation Center sent to me as a "Buff" Indian Runner is NOT a Buff Indian Runner - he's some other color, probably an unnamed, crazy genetic combination that I'll never figure out.
But, if you want to show her what they'll grow up to look like (the date stamp is wrong, these were taken and sent to me today):

I just hope all the lighter colored ducklings are, in fact, girls now.

I was trying to voice sex my little solo-Runner yesterday and "she" sounded suspiciously boy-ish. REALLY screwed up my day.
