All the storms stayed south of us tonight - but my sister got stuck at work; they put the building into lockdown and made everyone "hide" in the bathroom because apparently a tornado touched down in that county. Barely even rained here - we could see the lightening and hear LOTS of thunder, but all we had was a little bit of light rain.

Any of you have any leads on someone who wants a Shepherd? He almost killed my sister's cat earlier today (totally my fault - he's confined to the lower level of the house, and I lock all the cats up before I walk him out though the upstairs, but I was in a hurry and I couldn't find one of the cats....but he did!). I e-mailed the German Shepherd Rescue Alliance in Madison to see if they'd post a courtesy listing for me. I'm not signing him over to them - with his leash-aggression, I don't trust any shelter or rescue with him.

As usual Good Morning!!! Slept till 5:45 guess I needed it. But now TO my day is shot. But it sure felt good. Trying to think of an excuse to not go back in the woods this morning. Only have a million to choose from. It IS pretty wet out there! Should go get some drier wood from the bff's to mix in with my stuff. Got all the wood split and put in the shed, slicing it thinner than last year to dry better, didn't get enough to start a new row. But the last one is full. Think I'll let the slw's out in the yard today. That ought to PO the big girls while in egg confinement! Saturday the slw's were in the run and Peaches ans some hens were around the run fence and L and I were out watching them. Peaches gave a call the lil ones ran into the coop his head was turned skyward, there was a hawk. Really something how that is bred into them. Maybe should wait till Peaches is out to protect them. Sounds like quite a few new arrivals today hope all is good! TO NO NEW CATS! At least not until one of these pass. Your right amyable about the treadmill. Especially Taz. I call her wood tick. Thought of enough things to keep me out of the woods. Running late

Interesting storms last night, we ended up having a second creek run through our backyard about 40 feet from the one that is always there, it has gone down this am but very wet in that area yet. We were at DD's softball game last night and they were in the 2nd game but were smart enough to call the game and get everyone out of there before it started coming down to hard.

Had to come home and get the border collie his meds to help with the storm(lightening and thunder) anxeity that he has-has gotten worse with every storm this year. Had to increase the pain meds he is getting once again so now he is getting the max of both pain meds, but DH and I are coming to the conclusion that his quaility of life is not what it should be

and now we need to prepare the kids for it-they know he's on meds for pain and that he's old and having problems and they have been through this with foster dogs but he's always been here since they were babies....

Grass and weeds growing like mad and the garden needs to be weeded.. stay dry if possible everyone and have a good day!

Good morning all! Seems pretty nice out there so far...I put my place on the map! Check it out and get yours on too. It is at the beginning of this section. Might head to Bristol later tonight to see my best friend and spend the night--not sure though; feeling pretty tired right now. So DrH what time do you go to bed at night? I think I would die if I got up at that time every morning--even when you "sleep in!" (and I go to bed at 9!) Maybe if I didnt require so much sleep I would get more done? Nah--that would never happen! Falling asleep at the keyboard to day--better drink more coffee! Terri O

Yep it's curse! I stay in the chair till 9 then into watch the tube in bed till the eyes start to close. 9:30-10. Up with the sun usually. Even have the bedroom windows as dark as possible without painting them black. But I like getting up in the morning. Everything is coming to life and greeting the new day. It feels good deep down! Starts my day with a smile! That's all I want! Too wet for the woods this morning so into the big garden I went to weed with the fine toothed comb. About a 1/4 of the way into the new part, only took maybe 10 minutes to do the section I went through before. The combing is pay off. Figure it's better to get it done now than wait till the bitting bugs show up. Had to give it up, the sun is fully on it now going to move into the mater garden next but doesn't look bad after the comb application the other day. Let the little girls out today while I could watch them from the garden, staying pretty tight to the coop but that'll change soon enough. Then the worry begins. Dang kids! TO think you work harder than I do. I pace myself.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! well I don't need to water anything today! thats for sure. I was watching tv last night when the winds picked up, I still had to deal with our cornishX.... I walked out did what I had to do and ended up RUNNING back in... it was down pouring! thankfully everyone else (the chickens) where already in bed and the door closed. that's so nice when everyone does what their supposed to do. theres no way I can get in the garden today to weed, I think I would sink. so I'm off to do dishes and laundry. fun fun, acually I'm gonna do dishes while the kids sort clothes. to da loo for now!

Hi all, glad to hear everyone weathered the storm alright last night! I'm in Milwaukee county and we got a tornado watch around 10pm which resulted in a lot of craziness getting kids and critters down into the smelly basement. Of course the storm came in while the basement is disgusting from taking pipes apart. Chicks in the brooder (glad I have only four!) two outdoor English Angoras, two cats, tadpole tank, and pooch all came downstairs. Twas a bit of an adventure. Today I'm spending time working inside the house while my husband finishes closing up all of the open plumbing downstairs, then tomorrow it's on to mowing the lawn and weeding and such. We've been sick and the yard looks like a jungle. We've also got to figure out how to wash the 8 loads of laundry that got wet from the bad plumbing before it all goes mouldy, because we can't use the washer right now.

Otherwise--just roasting over here and dreaming about the rest of the holidays!

keedokes I have been meaning to ask for a long time now about your signature. For some reason it strikes something deep inside my scrambled brain. Have I heard it, read it before? Or is it an original that just agrees with my smile? Either way I love it! Glad you got everyone into a safe stinky harbor and all are safe! Better to smell like a carcass than be one. That's what I always say.

I know this wasn't directed at me - but that's from the first Harry Potter book. It always makes me smile when I read it.

Yes, and you have to say it in a slightly snobby British tone too
