WcC, did they schedule the surgery yet, or are you just foregoing it altogether?

Keep us posted, I am very concerned about that joint and I do hope they manage to clear everything up without the drastic measure of removing the arm completely. Infections suck.....

WcC good luck and my familys prayers are with you!

I have a question about light. My oldest hens are 4 1/2 months so I have awhile to wait for eggs do I wait until their combs turn bright red before I. Add extra light? I shouldn't need the extra light for any other reason right?

Carol- good luck with your shoulder hopefully they will get it feeling better!

Chris- we have light on our birds-enough to give them 15 hours of light(4:30am to 7:30pm) we have it on a timer so it turns on and off correctly. Some of our pullets were hatched in Jan 2010 and the last ones in Aug 2010 so everyone gets the light. Of course the roosters start in early too

so we open run doors after 7:30 am each morning-that way the neighbors don't say anything(not that they would) We also use the light to help with heating in the very cold of winter. This year we will probably need to make some adjustments since we built the new coop.

Have a good one- out to do some more cleaning up.

Well i went to the small animal swap.. it sucked.. big giant sour lemons....
NEVER again. Regular animal swaps yes, ones at monroe equity.. NOT EVER...

I will probably be going under the knife, I will find out for sure on Monday when I talk to my surgeon.

. this angers me that they panic now after 2+ weeks.

Good Evening Everyone! My puter barfed and is being resurected at this very moment but won't get it back till next weekend. WCc hope all goes well with the Dr's. Neat egg Amy! Just got the lap top on line with BYC so I'll try and stay on top of things. Too tired to type. Eatin supper then a little tube then to bed we get to sleep in our bed tonight. Was sleeping on the spare bed it was not the same. Night all!

Well hi all! I am at the Holiday Inn in Fort Atkinson and FINALLY got connected this minute! Brother, what did we ever do when we had friends that we couldnt talk to every day? Long time on the phone I guess!
Hey is anyone else having problems seeing the Avatar pics and Smileys? I dont know if it is my computer (my wonderful DH did something to "clean it up to run faster") or the site...

Regarding the meet-up: Please come if you are at all able! We are all "a bit odd" (if I may say so) and no one needs to think that they wont fit in. We are all friends and everyone is welcome! I sure hope you bring your horses Becky...Carol too if you are up to it. Good luck with that shoulder!
Just bring your lunch and drinks and we will have a picnic. I you feel like bringing something to share do so. No pressure! Let's just have some fun.

H&R that's about as techy as I get

Think I said it a long time ago that my name for my puter is Stupid Box. Did mostly outside stuff yesterday one was to get Peatwo and Btwo moved into their new appartment in the coop. They freaked at first but then realized there was rye straw on the floor with seeds in it. When I put the rest to bed they conversing with big kids. Took a break from scraping yesterday but will get back to it today. Really need that room cleaned up to move all the stuff from the living room. Tomorrow the repairman is coming to fix the fridge. What pain that is using a large dorm fridge and only one freezer. No room for ice cream! Listen to me complain about having a full freezer. Geez! Hope you all have a great day and the Pack win one!

Doc Ha Ha.. you made me laugh this morning, which is good but it hurt my shoulder!!
I have some one coming for the last two red hens I got from the lady in Belleville, she has more of course.
I have a little boy who will be SOOOOO surprised for his upcoming birthday, which is getting a bit of a surprise he gets to spend time
pony riding at where I board. He loves horses and his mom had put a wanted ad up which iI emailed her about.
I love doing this for people!!
Then my new client with her young horse, and then home sleep, then off to a friends place for movie night.
I like weekends!!

Hey everyone what a great weekend huh! Well got the lawn mowed and coop straightened out and built a new feeder yesterday. I had a 40# feeder in the coop and it just. Took up too much floor space in my little coop so I built one into the wall between the stud cavities and just put a front on and tipped it out to hold more food. Its 4ft long and 6 " tall and 3 1/2 inches at the bottom and 8" at the top I bet it holds 15-20# of feed and now I have a lot more floor space.
