Late night all! Just hanging around here waiting for dd24 to get back from work...I know I wont sleep it I go upstairs anyhow...I guess it's the "Mom thing!" Do Dads do this too? It makes me crazy...oh, there she is! I am glad...now I am tired!

I gave my parrots some of the oatmeal I cooked for the chickens...they LOVED it!
OK--now I need to go to bed! Of course I had a can of Coke....might have that "sleeping problem" again! Terri O--who wishes you the sweetest dreams!

Good morning everyone!
T.O. all this talk about not sleeping has got me goin too! I woke up at 4 this morning and could not go back to sleep so i went and swept the garage out and cought up on the last couple days that i have missed out on.
well my roos combs are looking pretty rough i guess we will see what happens as we go. they dont seem to mind so i guess i shouldnt either.

I have two hens laying but i am only getting 1 egg per day. Thats because one of my hens is laying from her roost and the eggs break when they hit the ground and then the chickens eat them. Man thats kind of frustrating.

well the kids are getting up so i had better let you go it gets pretty hectic with the 4 older ones getting ready in the morning have a good day all

Good Morning ALL! Bears kicked the Queens. cd I wonder if the rest of the birds are all there watching her. Look I think she's gonna do it again. Oh there it goes! What a dumb cluck!

Sorry to hear of the sleep problem! But hey you got the garage swept! BBCB didn't want to hear that about the slws their supposted to be a broody breed. Looks like I'll be able to shut the heat lamps off for a couple of days. Looks like less than 2" out there but freezing rain predicted for the rest of the day. Think I'll wait to plow maybe it'll keep the driveway from becoming a rink. Raisin bread today

TO, here are those pics of the tank as promised!!!

The whole kit 'n kaboodle. There is an overflow box at the top that siphons water down into the sump tank (this whole set-up is jury-rigger together with whatever I could think of that would work.....). Water flows into the refugium then through a series of glass panels into the pump chamber where it is sent back up into the tank.

The overflow from the side. The PVC piping is something called a Gurgle Buster (makes the tank NOT sound like an eternally flushing toilet.)

The return pipe to the tank.

Very cool pics BL4--LOVE the starfish one. I will show them to DH--I am sure that will kill his need for a SW tank...just all those pipes! (and he thinks our freshwater tank is a lot!) Thanks again...
CD--ya shoulda called me at 4! We could have commiserated together. Then I could have "saved" you from sweeping out the garage too!

So, sorry I have not been on, been super busy and am cleaning a run in shed and feeding 2 horses and 4 sheep in the morning, I went to see my new colt on Saturday, and am now house sitting for 10 days for
a very nice lady who has 1 dog 9 cats, and 3 horses.. so that is.. fun... yeah that's it..

On the other hand I did win a writing contest ( I write as a hobby so it helps)
