Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

So my trial and tribulations started last Thurs. I needed better tires on my two front rims. I had gone to a pace I thought I could trust.
They had so overtightened my lug studs (my car has studs vs lug nuts). They spent 6 hours off and on trying to get 2 tires off and then only one back on.
They had to break my rim to get the tire off. I had my 5 yr old niece with me. She s a saint by the way I ended up going home at 7:30 after getting there at 1:30.
My space saver spare on, and the day before New Years. On the eve, on a friends suggestion, I went on ebay. And lucky for me I found the type and size rims I
needed. I won the auction, and then had to go get them. In Chicago. So last night right after DH gets home from work, we left in his car.
Two things were good, our Cricket broadband helped hubby surf the net, and a reading light attached to it allowed him to work on a pet
project of his.
Bad news is I strained my arm/shoulder driving for 5 hours. so am icing it today in the midst of doing laundry and waiting for the brownies to finish baking.

Good Morning Everyone! See that's how it's done BCC.

That's cool about the workshop! WCc I've always hated when they use an impact wrench improperly adjusted. I've twisted off the studs even with heat on them from idiots like that. I'd take your bill to the people that did it and call them bad names. A lot! Good thing you weren't on the road with a flat and kids in the car. I've come home and checked the tightness and if they were too tight gone back to the place and made them do it right and then called them bad names. Start talking small claims court if they don't remburse you. Didn't do the running yesterday got wound up in the plumbing issues. Don't think I'll do it today either, maybe tomorrow. Seriously thinking of having a friend of mines step son come over and giving me a quote. He's a master plumber.

Chatty are we? only took an hour +/- to catch up. I forgot to get up this morning (I accidently turned my alarm off) and the kids were late to school. :sigh: oh well. finally done with the whole computer thing, all is well now.

ok I got a question, i know everyone here gets their user name shortened (terriO =TO, Dr haha = DrH) but if I see correctly, how did hurrley(sp?) end up ODrH???? I think I missed something?! LOL

in the spring we get to fix up the run, the snow is reaking havoc. arg
Anyways have a good day, I gotta go check the birds

Afternoon All... wow the air has a real bite to it today. Temps made the teens, but the pop holes stayed close to keep the coops warm today. WCC, I freak everytime I need to allow the garage to do some work for me. Usually they charge way to much for crappy or hurried work. Hope it turns out ok in the end for you.
Popped a sack of air corn for the flocks today. It's pretty funny how excited they get when they see that brown paper sack. I spread it out in the coops and they all clean it up in no time. I'm saving most of the venzun livers and hearts for the more extreme weather that's prolly gonna show up sometime this winter yet...

I'll feed that warm from the stove or oven. That the flocks has a frenzy over.

Hehe, yeah, I was giving DrH a raz because every time I see DrH posted here, I automatically think I'm being addressed. Hence, I got dubbed ODrH. It fits.

Dr.H is what I sign everything at work as, quicker than writing out my whole name. Besides my signature on prescriptions has a "Dr." and an "H" that's fairly clear followed by some squiggly things that look like I may have once attempted the "urley".

Hi all,

Not sure where I should post this but since I am in Wi, thought this is as good as any.
Where does everyone get their supplies, such as waterers, feeders, and chickens
I am planning on getting chickens this spring, and want to start getting non perishible supplies
I plan on getting 4-6 chickens. We have the plans for the coop and will start building it in the garage in February and March.

Anything that you have found to be a waste of money

thanks

David

otonoh...glad you found us. Yep you're in the right place. I get some stuff at fleet/farm and some other stuff at premier one poultry supplies. My feed i get from the local feed mill, and lately my chicks from a breeder by Pulaski. The only piece of equipment that I would never recommend is the metal double wall fount. They aren't reliable and are harder to clean than the plastic ones. With a small flock of birds like you are thinking about, a gallon waterer would be fine after they have grown some and the small plastic bases that fit on quart canning jars would be great in the start up. ~ bigzio
