Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning! All I can say is at least the sun is shining...makes it FEEL a little warmer! I want to work int he coop today and change the workshop area (really old from owners 3 times ago!) into a duck area. We need to climb up and put a ceiling in 'cause it goes to the rafters right now and is open into the goat part over the wall. The wind comes in there and it is really COLD! So it would be better for the chickens too...maybe I could keep some of the wild birds out of the coop then=no more mites! Maybe it will be too cold out there to be hammering and climbing though.

Those ultrasound pics always amaze me! They were just starting with that when I had my youngest and I had one...couldnt see a darn thing! We were only looking for a heartbeat and she said "Look, there it is." (I could very faintly see something) Geez--now you can practically tell the baby's personality with them! I wonder if yours will come out with scratches on his head??? LOL--those baby nails are pretty darn sharp!

OMG--Bubbles is an adorable dog---I love how she has her head tipped like she is asking if you wanted something. She looks like our Magic. So is she an Aussie and what did you breed her to? The pups all look like they have tails...I thought most were a natural dock? Lots of questions here...she looks pretty clean--does she work, does the Dad work? I am looking for a new stock dog....

Yes BigZ--what about that camp? Your offer came a bit too late last year but we could certainly take another look for this year. I am thinking about mapping out all our members by city and seeing if we can find a place that is convenient for most....hmmmm--who is the person that has 40 acres????

(Just kidding)

My new futon mattress is here! I just love the cover I picked out...the reds in it match my wall perfectly! The best part is I had it delivered so I didnt have to hear DH cuss and swear bringing it in...it was heaven. THe men carried it in, put it on the frame and that was it! ALL DONE! Well worth the $30 delivery charge to be sure. (Let that be a lesson to our Men here...

) Well, you guys probably arent like that....

So I was supposed to go to a scrapbooking thing this weekend that I had organized. We didnt have enough people to pay for the room so I canceled it...there is another group there today and one of my childhood friends is there! I am going to drive over today and talk with her a bit...her brother was my very "first date." It feels weird to have a whole weekend open like this! What to do--what to do???

My client Bernie is in a rehab place in IL. I am calling her sister today to see what is up. I guess sheis refusing to go to therapy and says the food is awful and she wont eat...oh brother! Maybe I should drive down there and pound some sense into her? She is very, very stubborn and difficult. I guess I better do that now...find out what is happening at least!

For now my friends...take care and stay toasty...and have a fantastic day! Terri O

(PS) Becky are you doing the actual trimming or the holding? I am waiting on mine until this next sold spell is over!

ETA: I am trying for typing a whole page...maybe sometime! (and you all can skip over my "exciting" news!

Becky & BL4) That is such good news! Hahahaa. I won't tell him, I want to see if he even has it in him to go in like hes been saying he will. Now all I have to do is plan something life changing (like going back for med school) and i'll get pregnant again! Cause thats how we roll around here!

Becky, i'm glad I'm not the only one crying over this!! I will love him dearly just the same of course, it's just sucky when you had your hopes up so high. Hubby says he only throws boys, I told him thats such a crock of you know what!! Semen is a pretty equal mix of both X sperm and Y sperm. They even recently tested people who have had multiple boys or multiple girls to see if they have a higher number of either sperm and once again, equal numbers. It's a gamble people!! I do feel for the people who have had 5, 6, 7 of one sex baby trying to get what they want and to no avail. The FISH study is really interesting to me.

TO) I always read your posts, no matter how long. I feel like you were my first BYC friend! lol. I write a lot too on my posts. Ultrasounds are crazy!! They were showing me the lobes of his brain, the ventricles of his heart, his kidneys, his lenses (which was creepy! It just reminded me of terminator! lol) I can't say I remember the ultrasound being that clear with my first one, and that was only 3 years ago!

Yeah, those baby nails ARE sharp, I remember getting scratched by those dang things all the time!

Well, everyone is telling me luckily I don't have to buy anything but...I do! I am a purger by nature

so we got rid of a lot of stuff DS wasn't using. We saved the car seats, the highchair, the crib...so we got major stuff. I'll need to get clothes and such, but i'm sure i'll get bags of hand-me-downs. I do need to get a swing, I loved that swing for DS, and he loved it too! That's what craigslist is for!! I love craigslist

We are in worry of losing our super-awesome sitter, and I'm worried

She had a rough year, and is now kinda scrambling for cash. She either needs to take on more kids, or stop daycare. So, in order for Damien to keep a spot he has to be there at LEAST 1 day a week. I told her to hang in there, cause when I get a job Damien will be in there more often, and then in May she will have another one! I feel so bad, this economy is really hurting everyone. We want to help her out more, but due to our situation right now it's tough. We are going to pay her $5 more a day, to cover DS food that he eats there. She feeds the kids 4 meals a day, that has to cost her a pretty penny. Seeing as it's never crap! I walked in and they had fed DS a whole container of blueberries cause he liked them! I was like, holy cow blueberries are so expensive!!

Morning All on this nice sunny Winter Day! Thanks for sharing all the pics and stories....like I said before, it's a great reality book everyday.
Congrats Raiguee on the soon to be new boy! Did you mention when you are due? Must of missed that.
Welcome DTR hope you enjoy your stay...go ahead and visit often!
Did you manage to save any of the 6er Terri? If not Sam would be proud...

In regards to the Camp as an option, it's up to you'all what you want to do.
It's located about 4 miles North of Clintonville just off Hwy 45 on a dead end road (Boy Scout).
Camp is open June 25. Without a reservation, it won't be available long. The only other 2 dates available this Summer are July 9 and 16. These are all Sat dates but include Friday night for a overnight for folks that want to stay at no additional cost. Options would be the bunk rooms or camping. Fees are $50 for Sat and $30 for each additional day if folks wanted to stay the whole weekend. Camper hookups are $12. Firewood is provided at no charge. Horseshoes, basketball, and other outside games are there also. The shelter has electric, water and lights. Dawn to dusk light also in the front of the main building. 60 acres to enjoy with trails Bringing poultry like last year would be of course no problem.
Regardless of where you guys want to plan the event....any money left from free will offering last year fm? Besides last year, are you gonna help with organizing this year?

They can be born natural docked (usually about 3-4 inches long as adults), have half tails, or have full tails (often with kinking in them, showing the tendency towards natural dock). These guys will be docked tomorrow and have their dews done.

Well, the little black girl finally gave up (which I pretty much expected), so I'm left with 3 little blue ticks. Fat, sassy, and so stinkin' cute.

In regards to their personalities, they are from conformation show stock (vs. straight stockdog), so probably have a little less drive than the crazy ones that act like border collies, but Bubbles and Jesse both have a lot of natural herding instinct and do a marvelous job naturally when I ask them to help corral the chickens. I don't have any sheep or ducks to work them on, but they would do well on them. I love these guys as they're the best of both worlds. They will work and they're pretty, healthy, and conformationally sound. Very smart dogs and eager to please. I call them velcro dogs as they are never happier than when they are at your side helping with everything.

Just had to walk away from the tax/flood crap for the day. Just thought to put in my 2 cents. The camp sounds perfect but as always it's hard to get everyone to come because we're so spread out. I personally would like more details on the bunkhouse thing from what I gleened $50 for sat. night? which includes fri evening? Think a Sat. would work best for all. Need arrival and departure times I guess. Think we'd like to sit around the fire and tell lies with beverages of our choice. Wind is NASTY here! Btwo layed this morning!

Bigz, the camp sounds great to me. What does everyone else think?

Congrats Raiquee! I know it's not what you were hoping for, but once you're holding him you won't care. Got 2 boys here too; my family was dying for a girl (we're outnumbered) but I love my little Logan to bits. So it's just me and the grumpy old girl cat in this house, LOL. DrH, I had to google Cartman...nuh-uhhhh! We call him Cheeks or FatFat (thank DH for that one.) The Christmas pic is the most recent I've got, left the camera up north. Oops.

Cindlady, had to laugh at the women with beards! Like dwarves

Gorgeous dogs, Hurley, wow! Too bad about the little girl, but 3 robust pups is good.

Uh-oh cp, that will be my spring project then - more chicken houses

I desperately need to expand the existing coop and make a new brooder. Might as well build a couple new coops while I'm at it, haha!

Yesterday was a 10-egg day. That's a record. Good Gurls!

OMWord that dog is too cute! but I figure the pups are REALLY expensive? that little black girl stole my heart!

I hope she makes it.

Raiquee its all in the timing, and welcome to the club of BOYS! I have 4 boys and a girl. gotta love my DD but she tests the limits and she is only 3. LOL

I catch up on the rest later, gotta bday party to go to!

Little black girl passed away this morning, just kind of faded away. Not surprising given how tiny she was, but sad nonetheless.

The 3 boys are doing well, got their tails and dews done this afternoon and they're quiet and happy with momma Bubbs.

As for cost, depends on your definition of expensive, I guess. I think they are reasonably priced. Also depends on show puppy vs. performance/pet puppy. I don't determine that until 8 weeks when you can see a mini picture of how they will look as an adult, conformation-wise. I don't have any color faults on any of them, so no clear cut pets yet!

Totally different subject, but can anyone link me to NPIP certification for Wisconsin?
(I understand Wisconsin has its own registration within the state, but would like to get NPIP for shipping in the future out of state.
