Oh so exciting to be thinking about the meet and greet already! But you all are right...we need to find a spot and reserve a date! Wewould LOVE any and all help that we can have so anybody that is good at planning is WELCOME! DrH--FM will GET you for bringing that up!!!! You'd better be good at hiding!

Myself...I have forgotten all about it....

Oh yes--who has their white elephant gift all planned for this year? Remember how much fun we had? Oh-I can't wait! THe camp sounds like a really great deal...showers, camping and all that included with the day....I know that I will want to be staying, probably Friday and Saturday nights. (besides, that is the only way I can get Dh to go)Sorry if I didnt explain myself too well in my other post

ODrH--I am so sad about the little black pup...that is the one I had my eye on! I am just going to have to take a drive down there and see those pups...my GF is whelping as I type...she breeds and shows Curly Coated Retrievers. I also take offense to your reference to "crazy border collies!"

They arent crazy!!! (at least mine arent!) Please take the Jack Russel off of my hands....

I have found a few places but I am unsure on the pet policy. Says you keep all pets on a leash. That would look awful funny on a chicken!

Maybe the people who planned before can chime in.

Since I wasnt at the last one, I dont know the setup and what worked and what didnt.

After looking, the 1st one isnt very central....... alot of campground websites are no longer working. I just know to stay away from Oshkosh campgrounds with the airshows going on!

Hehe, yes, my friend with 6 borders and I go back and forth with jabs. I always rib her that I like that my dogs have an off switch. Drive on demand, lol. She she maintains she shouldn't have to ask a dog to fire up.

Both breeds are great dogs, but Aussies fit my personality better than borders, a little less nervous energy. Fire up, then snooze at my feet. Sad about the little black girl, but probably for the best and her rear legs just weren't right. Either way, have the 3 butterballs and that's fine.

The meet and greet sounds fun. Hope I can make it. (Always a question with 2 boys under 2 years.)

Just ordered a fan for my incubator, hope that helps even out the temps within. Got a handful of silkie/showgirl eggs going into lockdown Monday.

Evening All... thanks for taking the PR position Doc. I think you covered last years event perfectly.
Alot of information and pics from last year are back in June on the cheeseheads. I don't have a clue what pages the stuff is on though. I think there was around 50 with the kids. I could be wrong.
If you decide camp will work, let me know. I'll reserve it for June. If not, then someone else will need to take the reins. Anyone from the fox valley, green Bay, wausau....etc are within a hour from Camp. I think a more central location is an option, but not a better facilities place and perks for sure. If the weather is crappy, it's nice to have a lodge with fireplace...just a thought. It's also no good to have great facilities and no one shows either....another thought. It's a tuff call for sure. What ever works out for everyone is the best option. Fishing for bluegills could be had at the clintonville pond 5 miles away if the weeds aren't in bloom....

Ha Carol...a woman after my own heart! I wanted so much to bring my horse last year...there are trails, but no facilities at that park...hey Bigz...can ya bring horses to your camp? (he is really well behaved.....most of the time!)

So ODrH--she has SIX?

I only have 4 and it can get pretty crazy here...of course mine are all well behaved...most of the time! I have one on my feet, one on the couch next to me (along with the beagle and JRT) and one in her kennel (door open) and the other sleeping in the LR. And for DrH...the cats are all on the post again! a six kitty stack!

My beans turned out fantastic! I just had the second bowl and will refrigerate the rest to can up tomorrow--or eat...DH is not allowed ANY MORE though

or he WILL be sleeping down here with the dogs!

Good Morning Good People! -4 here brrr. TO I meant to type you in as a major player but got interupted. You did a TON of stuff too! I didn't do anything just instigate.

ie; The quail comment was to get fm to come out of hiding. See how I am! All this talk has me excited to be there. Is it summer yet? There are so many parks and campgrounds in this area it's hard to know where to start. Think maybe the yellow pages. Boy Bigz that lodge with a fireplace sounds too good! That is a really cute chick pic! I always hate them cause it makes me want some more. Better get my butt movin, keep your thinkin caps on!

Hi all! As far a this years bash, I think we should all put were we are located and then pick a spot. Point isn't bad for me but it is still two hours and I can't imagine how far it is for anyone south or east of me. BBCB? If everyone posts exactly were they are I could make a map and then let you guys know. JMO. I'm up for driving anywhere, Green bay is alittle far for a day trip though. Clintonville about two hours for me. I don't know how far Nekoosa is though? I'll have to look that up. I'm looking forward to the bash again. It was about this time last year we started talking about it too. I remember tell DH the we are going to a chicken bash in June and he said, "It's Feb, I'm not thinking of that now" well all of sudden it was here.
Hurley-I showed DH your beautiful dogs and he said yeah they are really pretty, but no.

We don't need another dog he says. I guess he's right but I really want one. Our one is a Australian Kelpie and is the worst herder and we do have goats. Maybe I'll use that as leverage. TO- only holding, my DH has trimmed in the past as we have a pony that needs trimming every eight weeks, but I'd rather pay the farrier. Nice guy and does a great job with the horses.
Ok I'm off. Have a great day everyone. We are going Ice Skating today, hopefully I wont fall and break my leg. Pray for me to stay up right.

Good morning everyone! That campground looks OK DrH--plenty close for you hey?

What I am wondering is, do we want to go to a private place or a State one? For people staying overnight the private ones are pretty costly. If we were to go to one like that we might as well take ChrisD up on the place were he works. Hey Chris---ya out there? I have forgotten the link of that place...looked like a lot of fun (and horses!) The few private places I have gone to had a ton of rules about large gatherings...maybe all are not the same though. We could also look at County parks. They usually have a pavilion with electricity that you can rent for not too much and toilet facilities nearby.No camping though...we have a few gorgeous ones right here on Rock Lake!

Perhaps we should start the sign-up now and then we can find a place most central to all? I can co-ordinate that part...just PM me with your name and closest town so I can make a map. I will clear out my mailbox! Who wants to announce it on the Chicken-Stock board? You can do a TBD announcement for June so we can get on the banner list. OK then---planning is underway!!!

So last night I was trying to catch sheep that needed to go into the lambing pen and one ran right through me, pulled my arm out of the socket and knocked me down good! I could hardly sleep all night and my left arm is pretty useless today. I think it is just a bad sprain, I sure hope I didnt tear anything...man I miss my dog! I had a hard time putting my robe on this morning! (good thing I can still type!)

I am wondering how in the world I will pour coffee at work...I guess the old people will just have to have patience

Yeah...like that is going to happen!
