UGH!!!
DH's dad pisses me off so darn bad! I can NEVER say anything to him in conversation without him "telling me how it is" and ARGUING WITH ME! Like this:
(Now mind you, his parents piss me off super bad, so I stay in my room A LOT with them around, to avoid arguing. He knocked on my door, opened it and had this convo with me. I can't even get away from him in my own ROOM!)
Inlaw: Where is Ed?
Me: Working
Inlaw: Still?!
Me: Yeah.
Inlaw: When is he done?
Me: Hes not sure, hes going to try leaving at 8.
Inlaw: Well I think thats enough working for him today
Me: Yeah
Inlaw: But its good money
Me: Yeah, hopefully we will see it sooner than the last one <~ (This was somehow, the instigating statement)
Inlaw: Well, he should have stood by the truck and refused to work until he got a paycheck
Me: Well, those people (The ones who write the check) aren't out on the job...they were curled up in bed last night.
Inlaw: Well that would get them out of bed real quick!
Me: They have other guys they could have had covered, I'm just glad hes getting work (The guys who could have covered was all the salt truck drivers, seeing as they weren't salting)
Inlaw: Yeah right! Not during this snowstorm! And they prolly had all those people working!
Me: (Getting irritated) Making $20 an hour is a lot of money, I'm sure they could have found someone. So many people are unemployed...
Inlaw: Yeah but no ones going out in a blizzard!!!
Me: (Just staying silent, trying to end the conversation) ....
Inlaw: At least he is making good money, $600 bucks in a night!
Me: (Biting my tongue, trying to not correct him and say it was only 340 cause he can't do math) Yeah.
This is how it is...ALL THE TIME. I can never say anything in my house, and be right about it. Dh's dad is such a downser too, like saying we were "So lucky the furnace didn't break down last night and I didn't have to figure it out at 6 in the morning" I said "Well, we got wood if worst case senario" and he goes "Well NOT if the power goes out, then the blower won't work!" and I want to go really badly "It doesn't take electricity to burn wood, all you have to do is sit in front of the fireplace." UGH!!! Who says that anyways? Like...yeah I am glad the power didn't go out but to say it like a threat? WTH? I try SOOOO hard not to get into arguments with people as I am highly emotional/angry/upsetted easily and I know this. But DH's dad will wait until I get up to go out of the safety of my room to eat something and he HAS to say something. He runs out of his room to come and hassle me. He did the same earlier to me about "plowing" of the driveway. I said plow and he went off on a tangant saying the plow on the lawnmower won't work, he'll drive right into a snow drift and its not going to move that heavy of snow. I DON'T CARE IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM ITS THE ROOM MATES. He has to plow/shovel/lick the darn snow up it's part of his rent!! And, to top it off, room mate totally used the plow.
I just want them OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!! We have freaking 6-7 people in the house at one time, and its 3-4 people (and a stupid cat) too many! *rips hair out* DH's mom is fine, she usually keeps to herself...but his dad and the darn cat I am DONE WITH. Hes bored and retired and he needs to find a new hobby than making me mad! He usually does it to my poor DH, I don't know how he has dealt with it for 25 years.
Sorry guys
I am crying and typing this. I haven't left my room ALL day because I am trying to escape FIL. I am emotionally spent. I can't vent anywhere else cause they are FB friends with me. I will vent to DH tonight, but feel terrible about it cause hes been working for 17 hours now.
