DH has 2nd Dr. appt tomorrow morning with our regular dr. so HE can check out his elbow? his job says to come in and watch some movies? he'll get paid for watching them???? what the heck?

Good luck on the hatches! I'm gonna start the beginning of March!

I still need some coolers though

UPDATE on eggs... I had every intention to toss the eggs out from the incubator.. I candled them for one last time.. the Feb 3rd one looked like the air cell had disapeared. so I took all of them and floated them.. all were no good, but wait !! Feb 3rd is wigggling.. good thing there are high sides on the bowl or it would fall out.. I was handing it to Annie when it kicked.. It almost kicked itself out of my hand !! He is back in the incubator, now.. It must be a Toulouse.. The Sebs usually are 30 days.. I hope he makes it.. I took the humidity up to 60% and holding..

I just got home from work...not used to so many hours for sure! I am exhausted. Eating some rice chex for dinner...MMMMM

I just might have to make some popcorn to take upstairs. Got a good cookbook to make stuff out of--my week of feeling sorry for myself is almost over...then you wont have to hear about it any more...I will be moving into the acceptance stage. Gotta check out the beer next!

I dont know what is going on with my bator! It still is only at 96* after taking out the turner yesterday... not sure if I should turn it up more or not--I would hate to cook those eggs at this stage! I am going to check them again before I go to bed...I sure will be happy when this "hatch" is over! Sweet dreams! Terri O

TO your DH is a loyal fan. I wish I could have gotten off work to go to the Packer party at the stadium. I work in Green Bay and it's a fun place to be at this time. The folks that could go to the festivities sure were brave to be out in the cold, but how exciting

Looks good for the next few years for the Pack.

DH has a job interview tomorrow

Have some chickens for sale-

About 100 brown Hylines, they are 2 years old. $3 a piece. They are still good layers, and lay brown eggs.
20 Dark Brahma Hens, they should start laying this month. $10 a piece. They are brown egg layers.
20 Cukoo Maran Hens which should also start laying this month. $10 a piece. These hens will lay the very dark brown eggs. The Brahmas and cukoo's were from Privett hatchery, and hatched 3 October.
Also have 2 Dark Brahma Roosters, $5 each, and 4 Cukoo Maran Roosters, $5 each.

Also have a 14 year old sorrel breeding stock paint mare, she has white on her legs and face. Very sweet girl, used to ride in English Pleasure shows- so she is well behaved. Asking $1200.

I would keep them all myself, but an illness in the family requiring travel is forcing me to cut wayyyyy back.

On a side note there was an ad on my local CL for rehoming 2 hens and a roo in Monona, so I called and I was the first (insert yippee smiley here- if I could)
I gave him my email and he wanted to give me 3 hens and a roo....
Any one want a nice colored black roo and a free hen?
I will pick them up on Sat, and start their QT, and I will be pulling the three cochins out, so clean the stall and get it ready for the new ones.

So I stayed home today as I was trying to sleep last night and got up, barely making it to the bathroom, to go bleeech into the toilet. (Insert green faced smiley here).
And don't feel great today, took a nap and had a migraine, so dealt with that on top of everything... (insert pounding head into brick wall here)

Good Morning Everyone! WICc hope your illness passes quickly! That sucks or should I say blows? SJ hope your DH gets that job! Being jobless always creates so much stress. TO I can imagine that it will be quite an adjustment sounds like your handling it well. Glad to hear it! Congrats Raiq when do you start? Jim good luck with that egg! Pretty amazing huh? raim hope the DH's injury isn't too severe and he heals fast! Bigz I hear ya on the barn but I'd probably fill it up with good stuff

Thought the same thing about the sun and temp till I stepped out. Brrr! My bread never rose yesterday and called L to bring some home. She told me that someone else had the same thing happen then I looked at the barometer it was sky high. I freaked out when I went in the coop my glasses fogged up and I looked over to see a slw on it's side. I thought she was dead then lifted my glasses to see that she was only dusting herself.

Things aren't always as bad as they first seem. Think today is going to be and odds and ends day. A lot of little things to do. Have a good one and stay warm!

7 below here right now.. but it's all uphill from now on.

In a little while I gotta take a medivan ride with Mom to the Dr.
she's 96..

as soon as it gets warm outside, like tomorrow or the next day, we are going to band all the new turkeys (5) and turn them loose.. Tom is really getting interested in them..
there is a small tom in the bunch that looks sort of "spindley".. I was going to say "enimic", but I'm not sure how to spell that.. I'm hoping he will perk up when the weather starts to warm up..

all the people who were so gung-ho about setting my new computer up are quite scarce lately.. No tenacity in this new generation.. hit one little glitch and they quit.. LOL so far all I have gained from it all is a couple of extra pieces of equipment cluttering up my already cluttered room.. LOL

One says we need some sort of disc,, another says we can do it with what we have, another says I am not going to work with that b^#$%*&tch. and I say hey, as long as I can get to BYC. LOL

good news. my 19 year old grandson went into job service looking for a job..

to make a long story short, : computer? application, interest, inerview, they hired him right there at job service..!!!!

he is the new computer technical support.. he helps people who come in looking for a job who have to use a computer, but don't know how.. besides watching for the people who come in and steal the toilet paper.. LOL He has his first week in and loves it.
and they love him..

I am happy because now he can support me in my old age instead of the other way around.. LOL
