Well good morning! Man--our internet is down for ONE day and it takes me an hour to catch up!...and so much is happening that I want to comment on too. So I have a load of laundry in the washer...must be done by now--am off for the day so all of it is getting hung OUTSIDE! I love hanging laundry. It is good not too cause the mulberry trees dont have berries on them YET!
OK--the Beaver Dam swap is on Sunday. The fair grounds is East of town right off of Hwy 33 and Hwy A. South side of the street. THey have a web site if you want the exact address. Good to meet at BCCs. Are we to assume that you will be outside then BCC? Do you think you have an orange flag from one of your kids' bikes to stick in your bumper? (did anyone else have one on their bike as a kid?) I think I remember what you look like
I will have to find that picture again...oh no--that means I need to clean out the back room! AACK!
What time ya wanna meet? I thhink I vote for 8 or 8:30...the swap goes from 6-11 right? That will give us time to look around and then plenty time to talk...and I know we will...I was late to work yesterday cause me and BL4 couldnt seem to stop talking...good thing I didnt know she liked horses...that would have been another 2 hours!
Nice purchase Mags! Looks like we will all be heading up to Becky's to ride! Arent you pretty close to Northern Kettle Becky? Although I have heard that Southern is getting their electric.....I do like to be able to plug in a coffee pot and my heater! And Carol! I knew you would cave to that horse! You friend will be happy that you are looking out for him. I think that is the worst thing about horses, dogs and cats. (well all "pet" type things...you cant just eat them if you get tired of them!) Glad all the spring shots and stuff are done here! Whew--what a vet bill THAT was...now for the farrier and I will be all set to get out riding.
Jim--we will look for you (not saying we will flag you down...but we will look!)
You and Bigz made me laugh this morning with your talk of the whiskey box! My SIL has twin 7YO boys and they are MONSTERS! I cannot imagine having 3 of them. YEah...I always wanted to have twins too...till I met them! This Ken saounds like a riot...I think you should bring him to the swap! Toulouse are funny that way arent they? Mine are not even eating corn any more...they are just hanging around where the snow is gone. THey sure like the puddles everywhere too!
If your bator swings from 80 to 110 and you get good hatches, stay with it..
.............jiminwisc..........
I think I will post this in the incubation thread...just to get back at ya....you know, if you say it wrong enough, long enough; it becomes the truth!
ODrH--those x-rays are COOL! I just discovered that you are a vet the other day...BL4 and I had quite the discussion about becoming a veterinarian...since we both wanted too...anyhow, did you do the repairs too? It sounded like you may have. So what I really want to know is how in the world did that dog get that broken up? (I am betting it must have been a car) My DH wouldnt even look since he broke his leg...I think I am going to try and get the x-rays from when I broke my femurs--they would be fun to look at...Now.
So since I am this far...I guess I will just see if I can take up a WHOLE page! SO here are a few pics I took yesterday. I was looking at some of the birds out there and realizing that I have no idea what some are...if any of you do, please chime in!
First Roo:
Second Roo:
Third Roo:
Fourth Roo: this one has lightly feathered legs
Now this next one is a very strange bird...in the beginning I thought he was a true Auracana cause he never had any tail. Now he has one but holds it like this all the time! He has a beard and stick out sideburns. And vulture hocks too! An odd mix for sure!
Here is one just for a change...I know what they are!
Another species entirely...look closely for what I saw yesterday! Whooo-Hooo!
Here is another question for you...is this what they mean when they say "double laced?" (albeit a poor example?)
And now of a pick on "Abe" who I got from FM as a youngster last chicken stock. I think he has grown up to be a fine looking Salmon Fav! Unfortunately he was not up for pics!
...here is a pick of "Turk" as promised--this is the one I got from Cinlady. He is with his new best friend "Rusty" the cuckoo marans:
OK--one last pic of the very newest additions from BL4. THey are searching out the minnows in their water dish with their feet!
OK--now I am going to check if I used a whole page and gave you all enough to read and look at! Hey, I had to catch up for missing a day didnt I??? HUH? Have a fantastic day! Terri O
ETA: Darn--didnt get a whole page!
Well the horse thing may still be up in the air. I got a used cribbing collar and put it on Dill, but Zeus may be the one chewing. IF so, he has to go to Joan's and NOT Dill.
I made a promise to Dill and to Jo Ann, the girl who helped save him.
I have to go check out the paddock that Zeus is in, if there are fresh chew marks/bits of wood down.. he has to go bye bye...
It kinda pisses me off, as I have hardly heard a word from his previous owner. He needs his papers, and I don't want to have to spend 175 for them. (yes zeus is mine).
I think I will print off the duplicate papers request and go pay her a visit on a Saturday.
Grrrr. off to go check fences and try to ride.
Carol
I am close to the northern kettles Terri, but am only 40 from the southern too. If we ride on the weekend, I can make DH drive and ride too. I mostly want him to drive. Our trailer is huge! It's a 4 horse with tack area. Between the truck and trailer, I'm a school bus going down the road. I use to drive my little 2 horse everywhere, but this one scares me and plus it has electric brakes I would have to get use to. Maybe a lesson is in order?
I vote for 8 too. That sounds like a good time to meet.
Looking forward to seeing old and new faces on Sunday. DrHa- are you going? FM- are you?
Ok off to play outside.
Nope not gonna make it, too much to do. Wish I could. Ran out of mud right at the end, think about 2 cups would finish the job. Going in the AM to pick some up, going to need some for the rest of the house anyway.
Terri,
I thought we were going to be up there around 7:30?
Well I had the afternoon of sheer heck...
I logged off of here, and went to start my truck, no go, so start to run checks on the electrical.. fixed things, double checked things..
Still no go...
So call the hubby, he is on the phone at work, so call my barn owner and SHE is on the phone... sigh... (head hitting brick wall)
So call hubby again, leave a message.. finally I get a hold of him, he would have to leave work early to pick me up and take me to his
cousin's so I can get our niece (technically she is his second cousin.. but we don't quibble) from the bus stop...
I say hang on, let me try my friend/barn owner, she is closer and doesn't work today.
Luckily this time she was off the phone, so she came to get me, ( I am so thankful to her!!)
I got Ali, my niece, and had her mom take me home when she got home.
Hubby came home, he was out looking at my truck.. not doing anything, just looking at it for 15 mins...
He then comes in, claiming he can't get the hood open, he didn't come in to ask for help though...sigh.
I went out showed him how to open the hood.. he checks things..
I go to try to start it again, and notice that the buzzer is quieter, the radio won't come on now...
So I get his keys, bring his car around, and jump start my truck.. sure enough starts right up.
I have a NEW battery!!! GRRRRR (flames smiley)
I can only think that either I have a short, my alternator is starting to go, or the neighbor kids are up to no good AGAIN...
so now I am locking it, and removing my positive cable from the terminal.
grrrrr.
So sick of this.
OH... and our land lord won't let us out of our lease 30 days early, WITH a 45 day notice.
GRRRR.
Carol
