BCC--glad you can take that little guy...I hope he does his "stuff" for you! WHat a craptacular day! We had so many for lunch that I didnt get home until 3:30 and forgot to hit the feed mill on the way home...poor birdies are almost out. If DD25 doesnt get my message to pick it up I guess it is another trip to town for me!
Just jazzed up my lime Klarbrunn with some Captain Morgan Lime Bite. It is GOOD!
Tonight I am taking the left over corned beef diner stuff and making it into red flannel hash. I cant wait. I thik I am going to serve it with an egg on top too. MMMM.
Anybody good at Geneology? My daughter needs to prove that she is 1/16 indian...I am not sure how to go about it.

Hey guys,

Another quick update. Not a day goes by that I get fatter and more uncomfortable. A month or so and he will be in this world!

We also got chickens. And may be getting scovies from BCC later this week if everything works for her. Heres the pics of the chickens.

Needless to say, we are extending the duck pen this summer! I think sq. footage wise, we are safe still but I want them to have a bit extra room. Plus I wouldn't be upset if we seperated the scovies and chickens from the one pair. Buuut who knows.

What a miserably cold, wet, rainy, craptascular day. I think I would have preferred flakes to getting drenched every time I set foot out of the building. Busy day getting caught up from missing work yesterday, got home at 9. Blegh, still chilled but at least the fever is gone. *cough cough*

On a happy note, the zoo brought me a little 3 week old kennec fox kit to put a feeding tube into. Poor thing got traumatized by momma and has sloughed most of its hard palate, making a big hole between his mouth and his nasal cavity, so milk shoots out his nose. Got a feeding tube placed for him so he can gain some size. Will need to repair that palate in the future, but at least now he can get to the point where we can attempt the repair some day. Cute little guy, did really well for his tube. A fighter.

Ah, glad to be home, though. Get some dinner and get to bed to start again tomorrow.

P.S. Got some lovely dark Marans eggs today to save for my incubator.

Brought in some nice ones tonight, should have plenty more this week to go into the incubator. Should be some Marans for you.

Well after having moved the chicks from the aquarium brooder.. into the chicken room...
They are having.. "growing" pains...
They can't make up their minds when they should go to bed, where they should bed down and all that other good stuff...
Panicked cheeps, the new blue andalusian feels a little lost, but when I turned off the heat lamp to let them have the heater in the room on..
the buff silkie panicked cuz it was dark...
So... now I am afraid to go in there to see where they are sleeping but .. hey they ARE sleeping... finally...
I am making them roosts tomorrow..
I had to steal a branch from my snake's tank to give them something to sleep on...
And I am wondering if the blue Andi is a bantam.. she is sooo small...

And now Elaine and I are hatching.. LITERALLY a plan to get some chicks from farm and fleet...

I am a bad chicken person.. bad bad bad... LOL

Anyone ever order Sussex from them?? and what types did you get?

Another one of those days that by the time I read everything .... forgot all the nifty stuff I was going to say! soooo....

Well, I saved up enough eggs to make a double batch of Angle Food Cake!

I made one regular cake and played around with the other batch. The mini cupcake ones over baked and stuck to the pan. (I should have used mini cups

) But the mini loves came out great! So did the cake! My girls do good work!

"Water, water everywhere....." D@mn... can't even get to the compost pile without a boat!

And it's close to that going to the chicken coop! At least the main coop is up....but the temp./quarantine coop is getting wet on one side!

I'll have to see if I can "sandbag" that area somehow. And of course there is a big puddle right by the door!

Well...night all! Lots to do tomorrow!
