Oh Carol.... so sorry... yes they are big bunnies too so you dont think they would go so far, but they can run sometimes! Sorry they were a pain. You will be as glad as I am to get rid of them tomorrow. Thanks for doing that. Hope everyone gets to meet Carol soon! What fun she is... and if you have kids... keep her around... wait I shoudnt say that if I want to use her for a sitter someday.. hmm. Well she has my kids hooked... she mentions horses and silkies and they have not stopped talking about that since. We will try to hook up again next week.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. We are off to the Dells for a waterpark getaway. Found a great deal and had to find something fun for the kids. Have a good one everyone!

RH, do you have all EE's??? I would like to get some hatching eggs from you if you do!

Looks like we are going to have flooding weather! Dr.H I hope you have the sandbags ready!

Went out for fish tonight at the local hangout and saw a ton of people we know..... small towns are funny that way...

Now time for ice cream!

congrats!!

Must Love, Keeping my fingers crossed that none of the things you are worried about during your hatch occur. I'm sure everything will be fine. I have to giggle when I read posts like this... I'm pretty sure most mothers were never so worried about birthing their own kids, and yet everyone I read about hatching is filled with angst. I'm not saying that your concerns are trivial, just everyone seems to go through the same roller coaster of emotions and worries. I'm thinking I don't EVER want to hatch!! Not sure I would survive it!

I know right!?!I laugh too!! I've watched kittens being born, lambs being born, watched a dog c-section and I've helped mares give birth. I've even had to help a vet yank a calf out of a laboring cow-twice...nope no anxiety. When the quail were hatching....it was like watching little amebo's multiply... so nope no anxiety. It was odd to actually know I was not anxious!! But.... hatch some chickens and I'm a complete wreck! Ya want to know the really sick part of it all? I'm already planning on what to hatch for next year!

No, dk1 your much better off not hatching....it becomes an obsession to get better hatch rates and better chicks. Then you talk yourself into just one more try for the year because at the swap you went to someone had a dozen fertile eggs for $1. How wrong could you go there? The bator is up so hey! why not give it a whirl. Because seriuosly, the goal is that you have to have all the eggs hatch, right?
BTW, let me know when you want to hatch....I have a super slick incubator....

Bread turned out mighty tasty, love the crunch crust! Enjoyed hot bread and butter, then later made some fabulous PB&J.

Dogs washed and groomed, show stuff all gathered into one place to load up in the am, blegh not looking forward to the early rise to head to IL for the show, but once I'm up I'll be pumped.

Better go finish getting the clothes washed up so I have something to wear tomorrow! LOL

Poor hens are getting ragged, going to have to remove Mr. Roosters for a while, they're feeling the spring.

Brent, you and Annie must have thought about the ducks at the same time.. I told her to call you and maybe you would turn around and come back.. all I got from her was one of those "yeah, right" looks.. I am not sure, though, maybe it was "are you crazy?" look.. she is so hard to read.. Now you have a good excuse to come again. eh?.

Well MustLove I can see you are PERFECT person to keep me from getting the hatching bug!

LOL
My only real concern would be what to do with all the roos, since I'm positive DH would evict me if I kept a roo and the ONLY way I convinced him to let me get the chickens was on the condition that NONE get eaten even if I found someone willing to take half in exchange for butchering them for me (I can't watch someone else get a shot, odds are good I could never butcher anything!)

Raimnel thanks for the link, I'm not sure how soon you need to know, but that should give me plenty of time to settle in and hopefully attend. Not sure I'll get DH and his daughter to come but I'll give it a shot. Even if they decline I may still venture out on my own, as I would love to meet everyone.

Welcome JHED and good luck with your chickens!

edited to add: I just looked up where clintonville is... you sure it's even warm up there by the end of june?? LOL

morning everyone, I slept in till the late hour of 5:00am and hour and a half later than a work day. Getting ready to run out to Menards to get the last of the supplies I need.
Today I am siding and working on the interior. 8 days I think till my chicks are hatched.
