Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Ms.Frizzle :

My homefarm is on the edge of town/country, and guess what one of my roosters did? He hoofed it about a quarter mile to the local park! My brother saw him while riding the bus back from school, and my family ended up catching him by cornering him on the tennis courts.

Ms Frizzle this story reminds me of one of my favorite jokes......

Why did the chicken (rooster?) cross the playground? To get to the other slide! Badda boom!

2 geese in the hatcher and two guineas.. A mixing bowl of guinea eggs to set.. a few turkey eggs too.. and about 10 UkoKei..

tomorrow a lady said she was coming to buy 3 full grown guineas , sex was no object.. needs companions for her one guinea..

bought a split side of beef.. had rib steaks for supper.. Pan fried..I just remembered; I forgot to fry some onions.. have to have another go at tomorrow I guess.. LOL keep trying until I get it right, eh?

DK1, here is a list of tick borne diseases from the CDC.

http://www.cdc.gov/ticks/diseases/

I would bet it is the STARI you are infected with....... I would go back to the Doc and start questioning them- a lot. Lyme is a Northern tick disease for the most part, and you need to get on the RIGHT meds for whatever it is you have...... good luck and keep us posted!

Celtic; that guy had no idea he had hit her OR the fuel tank that started on fire........ the firemen pulled him from his burning car and he was telling them he hit something but had no idea what......... I believe there is a 'special' place for people like that: he will get his in the end.

Jim, we just picked up our side of beef...... along with the pig and now have NO room in the freezer!

It is so NICE to just run out the back door for meat!

I decided to tackle my weeding this morning.... and found something I am allergic to. It is either mold or some kind of pollen, whatever it is it wreaks havoc on my sinuses and equilibrium! I felt like I was carsick all afternoon waiting for the drugs to kick in! Guess it is time to pull out the Claritin and REMEMBER to take the junk every day! Ugh......

Checked the eggs under Jules. No internal pips yet....

and somebody layed a GIANT egg today! I tossed it into the bator to see what happens....

The one on the right is the normal size...

Enjoy the evening!

baby, thanks for the info, I did a little digging and found that the same medication is used to treat both, so I'm covered either way!

Helpful to know however.

Coop update: floor done with vinyl on it; four walls built except cutout for pop door and the cutout for the nestbox. Started painting the walls today, hope to finish that tomorrow. After that Inneed to frame out the roof and shingle it. The really hard part for me will be leveling out the ground where it will go because it is on the backside of a berm in the back. Then if I can get my DS or DSIL to help me, I will drag the parts out to the back yard. Then i need to put the four corner blocks in. Then assemble it, insulate it and install paneling on the inside.

Well send good thoughts and vibes.. I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW TOMORROW!!

I've missed all of you. I haven't read everything yet but skimmed fast to try to catch up. We have 6 birthdays and Mothers Day all in the first 12 days of May. Wheeeew ! Sounds like all of you are busy as well.

I have a question about closing the pop door to the coop at night. The door is on the side of the coop that is inside the run ( all fenced in Top, sides and bottom) Just wondering if we need to close it up or not?
We will be putting the 14 pullets out this weekend and not sure if it's better to close the door till they get used to there new digs?

We got the garden tilled and maybe plant this weekend? I might win the last to plant award?

The chicks are 5 wks old now and soooo fun, as soon as I start to fill the water and food they all stand there like pick me up first

hey quick question, I'm reading all over online about goats lol and am finding all different opinions (duh, right?) anybody have experiance with goat "formula"? some places it says the whole cows milk is better for them then this "formula"? and what about bloating..... how in creation do ya tell if a goat is bloated? are they squishy? lol (weird pic in my head now) did I read correct on giving them baking soda? and how do you do that?
barnie.gif
guess I get to read some more. what the heck did I do? I know someone out there wants to kick me.

sorry that its been all about me but by the time I get done reading I gotta type quick and run.
I did catch this though, BigZ, I was planning on making up some name tags unless someone else wants to, Lord knows I'll have my hands real busy with the many tshirts.

Raim, your goat musings make me laugh
lol.png
There is a good-sized goat dairy in Black Creek, called Caprine Supreme; I wonder if they could help you out.

for you WCC.

Cheese!

Raim.... good luck with the goaties! Alpines are my favorite! If my hubby would talk me into it, I would like a couple of Alpines for dairy goats. Hubby has never been around goats, he just likes that they are weed eaters! LOL I, however, have chased countless "escaped" goats. I have fought them out of gardens and flower beds. I have picked up garbage they decided they didn't want in their newly found "feed can", and rewashed clothes pulled from the clothes line. Keep in mind, NOTHING is escape proof when it comes to goats! On the other hand, they can be the sweetest little critters you'll ever meet! They can be very friendly and LOYAL. They are fun to watch and the milk is great!

WIC.... good luck w/ the job!

dkv.... hope whatever you have you get over soon!

The wondering roo story was funny! "lookin' for love in all the wrong places" LOL

Well, my son finally got the tiller fixed (I hope
fl.gif
) With luck the garden will get tilled Thur. With so many "scattered showers" coming.... who knows! I think this is the latest I've ever planted. I also need about 300 more feet of fencing too! Out of cash...grrrrrr.

Dose anyone know if that campground (for the bash) has cabins for rent with air conditioning? The trailer we were going to use has a frozen wheel and it doesn't look like it can be fixed in time. I need air due to health reasons. Or a motel close by, or something?
