Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good Morning Everybody! First of all I'M NOT THE RING LEADER! Instigator maybe. And I have to admit to being bad naughty on occasion.

Cind hope your tiller is fixed and you can get your garden in
fl.gif
Raim hope someone can help out with the name tags, I'd volunteer but you wouldn't be able to read them. Sounds like your already having fun with the goats!
cool.png
Susie "J" I would close that door and latch it every night to keep predators out. WCc good luck on the interview!

Dooner sounds as if your almost done

bl4 the tree pollen has been through the roof! My eyes water constantly and am producing enough snot to lube a battleship.

Laura has to take Claritin every day year round. Amy hope your naughty mommy comes around! shanti that was bad, real bad.

Dang dk that really sucks! I hate when Dr.s don't listen think some of them are so full of themselves that they don't have to listen to their stupid patients. Hope things improve real soon! Bryan called last night to tell me he only got 13 crapeyes yesterday think the cold night made them go deeper and he wasn't holding his lips right. He also told me that he watered his maters and peppers before covering them quess it was a big mistake he lost them all. Live and learn. Well the beer batter turned out excellent! Had to thin it out with more beer a bit so that left some for me.

Back to the woods for me today. Happy with the progress so far! Hope you all have a great day!

Carol, good luck at the interview!

Wish I had an answer for you rai about bloat and formula, but ours was weaned when we got her and I knew nothing about bloat or anything else... sometimes ignorance is bliss! LOL, she thrived and we never had any problems with her, just got very lucky I guess! Never did get any milk from her... when she was old enough we sent her to stay with the good Rev. Burns for a week so she could be bred. About 2 or 3 months later we relocated so she went to live with a family and their 10 or so goats and quickly became the queen there. They adored her and sent me pictures of Rusty and Dusty her boys.

baby had to laugh at the memory you brought back when I read you picked up your side of beef. We moved to Missouri when our girls were 5 and 6 and found out that we could buy 1/2 a hog through our local grocer. So we ordered... and a few days later got the call it was ready. Went and picked up the boxes of various parts all wrapped in white butchers paper. Nothing was marked so the girls and I sat there playing a guessing game before we unwrapped each one to see what it was so we could lable it. We come across this totally odd shaped piece I can't begin to imagine what it is. We all shrieked when I unwrapped it to find 1/2 the head (complete with one eyeball staring at me!!
ep.gif
I couldn't begin to imagine what the heck I was supposed to do with THAT! Later I was talking the the neighbor lady who was raised on a farm and she said "well you make head cheese out of that". Never heard of head cheese and was pretty sure I wanted no part of it!
sickbyc.gif
She was delighted with her present however!

Dooner, can't wait to see pics of your finished coop. Sounds like it is coming along nicely!

Amy hope your broody figured things out.

Have a great day everyone!

I love that you guys have goats. I would love one but DH might officially shoot me for that one. I am happy with my chickens for now. Just wish he appreciated chicken math like the rest of us do!
I may be doing a taboo but I leave my pop door open at night. I know someone was asking. Have not had a problem yet. Hope I am not jinxing myself with that one.
Carol good luck at the interview.

has anyone ever put a saddle/cover on a chicken whose feathers were plucked out? did it deter the others from further plucking since they could not see the spot they had tried plucking before? Just have one with a small bare spot from previous and 2 girls seem to bug her on that spot on her back with pecks and plucks. Saw an easy one on here that is no sew ( not my thing) that I might try this weekend.

Otherwise we are having a rummage sale this weekend. getting rid of all this baby stuff. it has been tough to setup with two- 4 year olds pulling everything off the tables I set up. Well we are off to a friends house to wrangle some more tables.

good morning all., I made it home without hitting any deer last night.. but my friend didn't.. the deer have been on the shoulders of the road in herds lately..

My main egg buyer is going on vacation in about 2 weeks,, He will be gone for about a month,,, or like last year,, until school starts for his kids . I am thinking of selling all of my red star laying hens then.. and any other chicken that is laying eggs at the time.. I have so many new pullets coming along..

DrH,, I have never been able to make a good tasting beer batter for fish.. and I don't catch enough fish to really get the practice of making batter.. LOL

Annie set up chickTV #5 this morning.. and she moved a batch of chicks out to the coop.. have a batch of Delawares and Americaunas hatching.. now up to 14 new turkeys..

Have to find a new place for the duck and goose that are outside.. they are just about rubbing their heads on the roof of the brooder.. I would like to put them with the goose ganders if they would adopt them.. I am a bit hesitant to do that, though, because of the hawk that keeps buzzing the yard daily..

I had 2 goslings hatch yesterday..

Hey goats are smart! they stayed in their "house" this a.m. cause of the rain
thumbsup.gif
I however had to feed them in there and feed Hazel her bottle (I can't fit in their "house") I got wet, thankfully she slurps it down in like 2.2 seconds. ok seriously, we didn't think things through, we have/had planned on "camping" this coming weekend for DS(11) bday however,

had some woman come over yesterday trying to sell some WAY over priced "learning" games. told her that she had 5 mins to talk so talk fast! I had my goats and dogs together for the first time when she came. thankfully the dogs where too busy barking at her to care about the goats, but when the dogs quit barking, I told her that her time was up and sent her packing. lol DH lol'd at me too. (you got a place we can sit and talk about this? NO! she was dumbfounded!

Rainy Morning All... Thanks for doing the name tags Raimnel and the T's. I'm sure folks can help with them at the bash as folks show up.
Cind...the main lodge has two bunk rooms...each has 12 bunks, and the main room has a number of couches. The main lodge is always pretty cool and their is an air conditioner also to make it freezing cold.

I'm still gonna win the last to plant the garden award Susie. Anyone that has theirs in before june 1st is prolly gonna beat me!

Sure hate to replant with the cool weather anyway. Your friend must be a little disappointed eh, Doc. Been there done that. I had to replant my whole potato crop one year when they rotted in the ground. I'm waiting til the soil warms up.

Nice stories about the goats...pretty good at antics it sounds like.

Frankly rai, I love Second Hand Lions and I think that's how all traveling salesmen should be treated. Had a particularly insistant one in Missouri one time. I was in the house and so was our dog, who was very protective of our family and very good at reading people. I answered the door and Scruffy stood there next to me quiet, listening. I politely told the man I wasn't interested and he said "we'll if you'll just let me..." and started to reach for the door knob. Scruffy then showed her teeth and barked. I said, you have exactly 10 seconds to get your *** back to your car... then the dog gets turned loose. Never saw a man run so fast ...ever! LOL

He proved to be a slow learner and appeared a couple of weeks later for another try, this time with a lady in tow. I was sitting on the porch swing enjoying a cup of tea before the kids got home from school. They walked up the drive and before he hit the sidewalk I whistled for the dog. Lady kept walking, he grabbed her arm and pulled her around and dragging her by the arm hi tailed it back the way they came!

I llike to take any dog I happen to have.. and when somebody like that comes, just grab the dog by the collar.. they instantly ask, does he bite? I always say, I don't know, should I let go? LOL

Jim you should say just strangers

Nice job on the coop! You get an atta boy! Now I have to keep an eye out for that movie, sounds like I might like it! dk excellent job on the trespassers!

Yup he is Bigz! I showed him about 30 some years ago about making raised beds his garden is 90% raised and filled with the best boughten soil money can buy. Can't imagine the $ he has invested. But in his defense he lives in sand country. Last year he dropped close to a grand for a 2" well and manifold.
ep.gif
Well I got one tree dropped and drug to the splitter and decided to drop a 20 something incher and then things went to heck in a handbasket. It was raining a little bit but not serious, I was knotching the tree and you know how your just a split second from pulling out of the cut and it pinches the bar. It's always just at that split second.
somad.gif
So I took the power head off and proceeded to pound wedges in to free it, didn't happen. So decided to get the medium sized saw out that my dad gave me when they moved to town. Couldn't even pull it through, pulled the plug and the cylinder had water in it from the flood last fall. Don't know if it will ever run again.
somad.gif
So I took my limb saw out and cut as close to pinched blade as I dare, nothing. It's raining harder of course. So as it stands [pun not intended] I have my saw bar and 2 big wedges in that tree. Waitin for a stiff breeze. Gee a beer sounds good!
