Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh no - I hope your chicks can get picked up today! Will the post office hold them overnight for you if you can't get them picked up today?

Hope you all had a great weekend, it's a breezy one here today, but I will take that over the humidity of yesterday!

So my chicks that I got last week from Meyer - they are all still alive and kickin! But I think I have a Roo!

One of my RIR is much darker than the others, the tip of it's beak is more red and it has way more tail feathers than the other two. It seems to be a tad bit larger too, but not by much. I would post pictures but the bugger won't hold still! I read somewhere that the roo's get tail feathers much faster than the hens and that they may even have a darker coloring to them than the hens... someone????? If it is indeed a roo, I am so so happy that I will be meeting with Carol this week to pick up two chicks from her!

Bwahahahahah!!! I have never heard of someone putting an egg in their bra to help it hatch out! Lol

Hope that it continues to hatch out and is all well when it is hatched. That chick is going to have a huge soft spot for your ladies when it gets big!

I was able to make contact with my buddies and they picked them up. One dead one, but otherwise the rest are doing fine.

I loved the bra thread, I was reading that earlier! The names ppl are coming up with for the chick...

I just love it. <3

I had a pastel call hatch today with a deformed foot! Hopefully I can splint it to get it corrected. Poor little guy is pretty lively and its a miracle when one hatches around here. I think I have a depressing 40% hatch rate on calls.

What is really amazing is how many other people have tried it, and were successful!
I think I've heard it all now.
And I'm sure Jim & DrH will have a few interesting names for the chick too.

Yes, I have heard of it,,, and yes you are out of your mind..

a couple of years ago a few women got together and tried carrying the eggs for 3 weeks.. One of the women succeded in hatching more than one.. I think she carried 6 eggs.. she was from Hudson, Wisc, I think.. or somewhere over in that area..
I think they were from BYC..

all I can do for this woman is check on the egg daily to make sure it is ok..

She is on that thread with a comment. Her name is Ashleyy_x3

LOL a year or so ago. i posted a topic asking if it was possible to hatch an egg with body heat. a couple of other ladies thought it was an interesting theory to test out, so we all decided to try it. ( i used mine for a science project for school hahaha) we called our boosums "Boob-bators" instead of incubators
unfortunately my egg fell out during tennis try-outs while i was stretching and it smashed on the ground at about 1 1/2 weeks (there was an embryo in it ) and one of the other ladies on here who was doing it also, (she was very well off in the chest area and was able to fit about 5 or 6 bantam eggs) she was able to hatch 4 of the 6 out, carrying them full-term for 3 weeks
so it definitely is possible to hatch eggs with out body heat. more so if you are um.. well endowed in the chest area lol
so yeah, you're not crazy at all. i think me and the other girls in my experiment were more crazy for carrying around eggs in our bras 24/7 for the whole 21 days of incubation
