Courtesy of Cowboy Curtis Pee Wee's Playhouse. Glad to hear about lack of scar tissue! Scary thing for sure! Sorry Amy but I'm hoping for rain didn't water last night in hopes that it would or maybe I was too lazy.

Cind Bigz is bringing venison and we're bringing BBQ's think another meat would be a great idea. Had to laugh at your helpers in the garden brought back memories of the help I got. My hands were actually scratched from my helpers guess I wasn't moving fast enough for them.

No woods today so after doing other stuff going to see the house that the youngest DD and her BF bought. It has frontage on the best trout stream in the area.

Have to laugh at them they have all these grandios plans but no lawn mower etc. Fun to listen to them tho, I just smile and nod my head knowingly. Better get movin! Have a great day!

Polla, Susie, Amyable, Julie, anyone else near Morrison we haven't identified, if we want to carpool/caravan, feel free to use my yard as a gathering point and park n drive. Plenty of room if we need it and the ducks and horses won't complain about the vehicles. I'm near the intersection of 96 and W. I can take at least one person with birds/plants/food but have to be home around sixish or sevenish for a feeding or they get ticked.

I've been so lucky I have a daughter who is bird crazy like me. We can talk about them all the time and I don't have to annoy my collegues at work one bit, although they know without a doubt that I spend a lot of time with my ducks. How could they understand?

This group is another fantastic way to share my illness!

Looks like I'll have to water the garden again today. I fairly certain that my carrots are just not going to come up this year, so maybe I'll plant something else there today. Have a great day, everyone!

good morning, I do not think there is a charge for a camper. BigZ can answer that question ..

Mama duck is down to just one.. something got 3 of the babies last night.. I am guessing a rat or two or more..

It looks like it could rain.. I want to put in some squash and cukes and peppers.. You would think as large a garden as I have that I would have room for everything,, I might have gone too heavy on the corn (2 pounds = 16 rows).. might have to sacrifice some of one corn row..

looks like it is a long pants day.. this weather is sure fickle..

I do not have to haul straw today.. Annie suggested that I steal the pile of straw from over the septic tank.. we can replace it next fall.. and it should be good and partially decomposed and wet..

I am off to Fleet for a new battery for the tractor.. It took a 70% charge last night, but it wears down pretty fast when I do a lot of starting..

Morning All!

DrH-I suggested the cook books to you so you could read them to your hens who don't want to lay eggs....

I find this helps give them the incentive they need to lay!!!

Of course, the Girls have to listen you you and that is always a problem... I bet you will be "helping" your youngest DD and her BF with the "chores" around the stream of their new house!! LOL!!!

Cind-that is to funny about your helpers! Reminds of the story my dh told me about his Dad's tomato garden. It seams that dh's chickens got into his Dad's garden and sampled the wears so to speak! Of course the tomatos were still green and the Ladies picked off every single little green fruit. They picked the plants bare. His dad was ticked to say the least. Especially since the Girls didn't eat one tomato. Just taste tested them-took one bite from each fruit and dropped it and moved on to another fruit!!

Welcome to WCW!

TO-I'm worried about dk1 too. I hope she is ok. I saw a car with Florida plates at our local Wal Mart around the end of May or very beginning of June. I almost left a note on it but I couldn't remember when she was supposed to land up here. I didn't want to be all stalker-y so I didn't leave a note. Now I wish I had! Rest assured, if I see a car with Florida plates before she postes here again, I'll leave a note on it!!

Well, we got a light show here with some rain this morning! Now I don't have to water the garden. Well, I best be off, I have to go feed the chickens and rabbits. Have a great day everyone!

Morning All....no rain here last night. Kinda cloudy and cool today. Sure could use the moisture to get those stubborn seeds to sprout.

No additional charge for camping except for electric hook up. It's $12 per night for the electric hook up. All those are located around the circle area near the main lodge, close to the rest rooms.

The fees for the camp are $50 for Saturday. We can pass the hat for a free will offering. If everyone tosses in a few bucks that should be no problem.

The fee for Sunday is $30....I'll pick up the tab for that fee.

Folks coming Friday night can stay with no extra charge, so in reality one could come fri, sat and sun for a few free will offered bucks.

Just the fee to enter a state park would be more, and it would'nt come with camping and showers and a lodge to use, plus the shelter and the camp games and other facilities....

I will be responsible for clean-up on Sunday. It sounds like Doc will help me with that...thanks for that!

Morning All!
Well I got to bed around midnight, woke up round 5 to let the dogs out, got them in, and went to use the bathroom... Hubby was getting ready for work, and I suddenly felt like I had to throw up. I did.. but no food..
WEIRD!! Time to call the Doc...
sickbyc.gif

Things have settled down with the dogs.. as long as I keep the chihuahua on a leash, he leaves the scotty alone...
I have to do dishes, And need to talk to the DH about putting the library together...and moving more boxes upstairs...
Carol
Wanted to add.. there is no way in the 9 he[[s of Aralu that I am preggers... So its not morning sickness

Good morning! Gosh...I slept in until 9 today! I sure do love a day off! Heard the thunder at 5 or so and got up to bring the cat food bags into the barn that I left out last night! It was already raining by then so they were slippery! (no tears though!) So there is another way for you to get rain if you need it...just leave a few bags of feed outside!
th.gif
:th I was kinda happy to see the rain...then I might stay inside today and do some much needed house maintenance! It kind of looks like it wants to get sunny now though...I might be saved once again!

We are leaving to the camp on Friday as soon as DH gets home from work (I hope) I still have to get with my "chore girl" and get all that ironed out...(thanks Carol

) Hmmm...that makes me think of another nomination.....I am having a little trouble with those Mulberry trees. I had 3 in buckets and gave one to Hurley. Then one dried up. dumped that one and planted up 2 more. Now one more looks to be drying up! I am still finding and digging. It seems like the ones with deeply lobed leaves live better after being dug up...but I am thinking that those are the male trees! My MGV friends say that the leaves are not an indication of the trees' sex but I am politely disagreeing!
I did find out that I have a Hackberry tree (or 2) and that the berries taste like dates (but the seed can crack your teeth!) I am having some problems with skeletonization of the leaves. At least I know what kind of tree it is now!

They are talking about the big Cutter Harley ride on the radio...I guess they have 1200+ bikes registered for the event this weekend! I think it's a fund raiser for MDA. Some initials anyhow...

Guess I better get out to let the critters out! Gotta see if my Wheaten A shows up to eat...the hen with the guineas lost 2 but is holding on to 4; man those little birds dont listen very well! It looks like all the other hens with chicks are saying, "look at her! She cant keep her kids in line to save her soul!!!" I kind of feel sorry for her. The guinea in the barn is STILL sitting...HMMMM. AND--I have 2 goslings! No idea which nest they hatched out of but they are walking around with the Dad's. Just what I need MORE GEESE!
D.gif

Oh yeah--Jim, if you want to fix Angel wing sometimes this works if it isnt too twisted already: Pull the heaviest blood feathers from the tip of the wing and bind the wing in the correct position to the body of the bird with vetwrap. By the time the new feathers start coming out the bone should be strong enough to support the weight of them. I have fixed a few this way if I catch it early and if I can catch the bird! Nothing looks sillier than a goose with both wing tips sticking straight out!

OK off to feed some critters! Have a fantastic day everyone! And Cind--leave a note next time!!!! Terri O
