D@mn I love this place!

When I compost I throw a layer of dirt in every foot or so of compost material. I think it helps break it down better.

Well, off to pick asparagus! Did I ever tell you how much I love this place?

Thanks all for t he positive comments on the coop. Of course I went out this morning and after their first night in the new coop they managed to pull the poop trays off the shelf and poop directly on the shelf......and in the waterer...and on the floor....

My 30 yo DD looked in and said "look at all that poop, is that from one night?" Chickens really do poop a lot, don't they?

Just so I understand, I should scrape off the poop trays every couple of days, but other than that I just let whatever poop ends up in the pine shavings just stay there for a month or so? Or is that up to me? Do I just stir it up once in a while?

I hope the bash went great, I really hope to be able to make the next one!

that in itself is a feat!

sounds like at least my family and DrH will be wearing them

I'll post a close up pic after everyone gets one, I don't want to ruin the suprise. I do promise though that they look VERY close to the design. Less the fact that i had to hand pain the beak and combs. which reminds me, I went back over the beaks AGAIN those shirts are sucking up the ink.
ok now for what I came back to say. I reposted the address to the camp, on the bash thread so anyone can GPS it. (like me)

Well I was up by Dornes AND Sweet Folly today at an auction with my barn owner Joan.
She wanted to buy a chariot, and she got it for 50 dollars.. that is the good news. the bad news was that we have to go back up with her truck to get it.
AND she has to get her truck brakes fixed before doing that.
I will get pics of it!!
My mallard hen is sitting on eggs, should be cute little mutant/mule babies!!

Evening All...thanks for sharing all the pics and stories....my poor eyes have a hard time keeping up.
Managed to get a couple rows hoed today...amazing how much stuff finally came up. I was almost giving up on the pickles, dill, and beets...low and behold, suzie did put seed in the ground...not that i ever doubted her ability to plant seeds....just thought i'd mention that, don't know why?

Getting closer than ever to the bash now....able to count down on one hand almost

seems like it was months away not long ago

fed another feral cat here today...just feel sorry for starving animals. He'll sleep good tonight, and prolly be back again.

Ate too much for supper again....something about venzun wrapped in bacon on the grill. The piece left over sliced up will be a great sandwich...
