Good evening! I like when I can get on here a couple times a day...not so much to read!

DS@@ says that Country Fest shouldnt be too bad with the traffic cause it started on Wednesday and everyone stays the whole week. Dont know if I really believe him...I guess we will find out when we drive through there on Friday afternoon!
I went to my neighbors that want the white calls and they are for sure coming! I brought then the map and directions (they say they are computer illiterate) so they can find their way. He is bringing birds to trade too. Mini turkeys and SLW! I told him that here were a few looking for SLW pullets. He has peacocks too if anyone is interested...let me know so I can tell him.

Got my "roo pen" reinforced tonight...the chickens that Carol brought over are way more prone to escape that the roos that were in there! One Jaerhon is sleeping somewhere (?) tonight....I hope he doesnt meet the same fate as the banty the other night...trap is set again.

Speaaking of that banty...got another hen ODrH? I have it entered in our fair...now she is gone. If it is the same class I am thinking I can enter the bantam D'Uccles from Carol in her place...gotta check that though!

Its amazing how I can list a rooster on Craigslist for $2 and get no replies. The minute I change it to free I get some responses. People are so cheap.

Well, got all the plants out and packed that I'm going to bring. Hope someone wants Black Eyed Susans! LOL... looks like I'm going to a "Plant Bash"!

Showed the neighbor guy the chicken routine so he can take care of them this weekend. Hope he remembers them!

Got to go clean and pack strawberries and asparagus then do more trailer packing!

a few years ago I thought I would splurge and buy Purina layer pellets.
I figured the chicks would not waste so much if it was in pellet form.. they hardly would eat it.. and they stopped laying almost imediately.. within two or three days all of them stopped laying.
I quickly got the Fleet crumbles and we were back in full swing in a couple of days.

Tomorrow I have to clean out the Blazer so I can fit a few cages in it..
Deb, I hope your hubby starts to take his meds.. I was the same way with my blood pressure meds.. then the big one hit me.. I was only minutes from dead.. If I would have kept up on my meds, I prolly wouldn't have had the heart attack.. I need no reminders to take my meds anymore.. remind him that he is taking them for you, and not only himself..

I'm feeding Nature's Grown Organics (poultry layer) with oyster shell, additional whole oats and cat kibble to up the protein, and my ducks are still off their lay. My guess is that it isn't the feed we're giving our birds. And mine are ducks, not chickens! So Celtic, we have to sleuth around some more. (hope you can make it!)

My chickens are laying like crazy. Now that my broodys are done with their babies I get 6 eggs a day and I only have 6 hens. I have shipped lemon blue and mille Fleur bantam Cochin eggs due to hatch on Saturday. I hope some actually hatch!

Good Morning Everyone! TSC was out of Dumore feed and I bought Layena but think it's just the weather. They lay at -20 what the H? Only got 2 eggs yesterday an all time low for 11 hens. dk hope the DH is coming around soon! Have a talk with his Dr to tell the DH to take his @#$&* meds then walk in and smack him!

Was really looking forward to meeting you all dressed up in your union suit!

Cind I know I know it's just wrong with no onions or peppers but it has a little zip to it just hope it's just not too much. Have to make it for the masses ya know. Some are of a delicate nature!

TO if we can get Carol to come next year you 2 are gonna have to find a new sitter.

CC's gonna make it! It's a Betty Crocker recipe for the noodles except I cut the salt to 1 1/2 tea instead of 2 and I boil them in chicken broth for flavor. One batch takes up the kitchen table and I'm makin 3 tomorrow.

But it's a labor of love. Nothin but the best for you guys!

Can't hardly work on them yourself anymore. Dang new fangled stuff. WCc ya it gets easier. Snicker snicker. Jim stupid on/off switch! One of my favorite things to do is to run an extention cord and not plug it in. I grab the tool and hit the switch... nothin. Then I always make vroom vroom noises and go plug it in.

It happens a lot.

Think I'm just in a hurry, ya that's it. Have half of the burger thawing in 2 of my largest skillets better go get it busted up some more. Wish we were coming tomorrow! I'm so cited!

This is going to be a VERY LONG day......... it would be GREAT if I could get out of work before 7 so I can get my booty home and make the fondant and the raspberry filling for the cake, and the two batches of soap I promised!

Maybe I will make it to bed by midnight..... then up at 5:30 to run to the races again!

Had my kids watch Dirty Dancing the other night.... now my oldest DD has for her FB status "Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

Ok off to Oshkosh for another fun filled day!
