we also stay at the Dells Christian camp ground ALOT! we have a camper that stays there lol

Kalarhi is the biggest out of all of them with a bunch of waterslides. It's been a while since I went to Mt. Olympus... You must live pretty close to WI dells! lol
big_smile.png

ya close! lol 2 hours away!
gig.gif
been hard getting there the last couple years
hmm.png

Mt olympus combined with the one or two other parks next to it, it's pretty big now. still doesn't have a whole lot for all the water slides. but the kids like the gocarts anyways. They have the whole indoor waterpark, a hotel, go carts, waterslides. we usually go to the hotel in the winter and play on the indoor waterpark, breaks up the winter. lol

ok I have the name tags done but I know I don't have everyone, so I'm bringing the tags with me. lol I figured we would only wear them on Sat.

oh crap, I'm editing this post and can't go back, grrr!
who was it that just said there now coming to the bash on sat at like 4ish??? I don't know about everyone else, but we'll still be there! lol oh and Jim will be too cause he's making breakfast on Sun morning. lol

Well, getting hyped up about meeting everyone !!! We will be there but not exactly sure what time !! We have to go and get horse hay and chicken feed and with the rain don't know if we will end up going Saturday morning ???? so we may be late, ???? who knows, story of my life !!!

So I won't be bringing the beans, already PM'd Raimmel. Told her I would bring a couple pails of ice cream. Bought different kinds of cones already.

So, what kind of ice cream does everybody like ????? I'll pick it up on the way down. Anyone know where to get dry ice so we can keep it cold????

TO, do you know how much your neighbor is asking for the Peacocks? I'm looking for a PeaHen. About a year old would be nice. I have one hen now and two cocks. They are all a year old now or close to it. So I'd like to match the age. I named them ABC, CBS and NBC !!! Don't really know who is who but I thought that was cute !!!

Deb, so sorry to hear the news about your hubby. He is going to a good place for treatment though. I've been going to Madison, UW Hospital & Clinics for years. Will actually be 40 years in July !!!!! They've managed to keep me around all this time !!! (Childhood cancer at 13 (plus 2 more strikes with it)Will be 23 years in August since the last bout !!!!
wee.gif

That being said you will be able to spot me when I get out of the truck and start walking !!! I wear a prosthesis !!!
old.gif
Used to be a wooden leg until I got that new fandangled computerized leg 4 years ago !!! Still like alot of things better about the old one but gotta go with the times I guess ........
wee.gif

Anyway, does anyone have violet, purple, chocolate or unusual colored guinea chicks or hatching eggs? I want to add to my flock. I already have white (from Jim, thank you), lavender also from Jim and my own, plus some mixed but I really like the dark purple (plus less of a target for predators)

Jim, what color are the ones you are hatching for your friend/neighbor???? Are those some of the bloodlines I got from you or did I just get from your birds??? They are all doing fine by the way.

Well, got lots to do today, Crappy Crappy weather again up here !!!!!! Sure is stiring up the old arthritis !!
barnie.gif

Don't forget, what flavor of ice cream do ya all want ???

Crappy, crappy weather again down here too, FT. COLD & wet, wet, wet.

I propped open the gate a little on the carport so the ladies could go in & out as they please, as always, but they're not too thrilled with the weather either. Most of them think it's an inside day too.
I wanted to get some plants potted up today.......Don't think that's gonna be happening.
Did you hear about those wind gusts up to 100 mph down in Waukesha co. the other night? Well, they did a number on my rose of sharon bush.

Split a section right off at the base. Can't believe we didn't lose any more trees though.
Raim, I can bring beans if you want, but it would be late. Any ideas of what I should bring along?
And it will be myself & DH. Robin & Steve. And we're not picky about ice cream. They're all tasty. How about the old standbys, chocolate & vanilla?

MLH, thank you so much for your insight & expertise on the feed & egg issues. That is some really good information to know, especially the next time I go feed shopping.
I had been researching possible causes since this whole thing started, and have come to the conclusion that it is most likely a result from either their feed or the weather, or a combination of the two, that is the root of my particular problem.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my egg shell issues began when I had switched from Dumor to Layena. The biggest difference I see in the g. analysis is the lower calcium level in the Layena. In the ingredients, they list: grain by-products, grain products & plant protein products. Not a word about any sort of meal except "Ruminant meat and bone meal free". I don't have a bag of Dumor on hand so I don't know about their ingredients. I got the guaranteed analysis info below from TSC's website.

Layena Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude protein (min.) 16.00%, Calcium (Ca) (min.) 3.25%, Calcium (Ca) (max.) 4.25%, Lysine (min.) 0.55%, Methionine (min.) 0.25%, Fat (min.) 2.50%, Fiber (max.) 7.00%, Phosphorus (P) (min.) 0.50%, Vitamin A 3,000 IU/lb, Vitamin E 10.50 IU/lb . Ruminant meat and bone meal free.

Du-Mor Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min.) 16.00%, Calcium (Ca) (min.) 3.80%, Calcium (Ca) (max.) 4.80%, Lysine (min.) .70%, Methionine (min.) .35%, Crude Fat (min.) 2.50%, Crude Fiber (max.) 7.00%, Phosphorus (P) (min.) .50%, Salt (NaCl) (min.) .25%, Salt (NaCl) (max.) .75%, Ruminant meat and bone meal free.

Well I have some great news!!
I was checking my broody bantam and have a pip!! and could hear the youngster.. peep peep peep...YAH!!!.
I got a call from a fellow down here, he had sold some cuckoo maran chicks that were extras from what he hatched out for a neighbor of his. Well he got one back as the chick had been purchased to keep another chick company.. well that one died...
So she came to my house and is in with 2 others I purchased as future hens for the maran rooster I got from Hurley.
IF it is carrying something, I will know and they are isolated from any other poultry at the house, (they are the only ones).
If nothing happens and she grows up nice a strong. I have already talked to TO so she can have one for her cuckoo roo.
watching CC t.v. a show from England about horses and ag shown on RFDTV... one good thing about babysitting my niece.!!

Have a great one, stay dry

Depends what way FT is arriving from....If she is coming from the north then she can add another 8 miles to the ride going to c-ville. Only one grocery store there, and thet do indeed sell Icy Creamin....I eat any flavor, or color....

Celtic, I have different feed and a different type of bird altogether and I'm having shell problems too, as well as low production. My guess is the weather. Global warming, or some such thing that affects the whole state.

Natures Grown Organic Layer Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein 16%, Calcium 3.5%-4.0%, Lysine .75% min, Methionine .25% min, crude fat 5.0% min, crude fiber, 5.0% max, Phosphorus .5% min, salt .3%-.8%. All protein is organic plant protein products, plus it has all the vitamins.

They direct on the label to NOT feed additional grain or free-choice calcium. Hmmmmm. I will stop on the oyster shell and see what happens. But that doesn't explain everyone else's problems. And I do know that my birds get lots of protein in the yard, especially now with all the worms coming to the surface.

BTW, even my ducks are bored with their temporary pond that all this rain has provided. I figure if they're tired of it, I can be tired of it, too. Phooey on you rainclouds!

Well, this darn weather sure has me not wanting to do much of anything lately, so I'm guessing the ladies are feeling the same way. Sure hope it changes soon. Otherwise, does anyone know if they sell waders for chickens?
lau.gif

Kinda scary how it affects a bird's natural cycles. What will it wind up doing to us in the future, I wonder?
