Got back from Shanti's and my 4-yr-old says, 'Mama look I got lots of eggs!' He pulled out all 14 eggs I put under the broody last night and put them in the egg basket

I think he'll leave them out there now that he knows they'll be chicks soon.

We have 3 eggs outside that have internally pipped..... I am hoping by Tuesday night I have 3 or more babies!

The chickens flew the coop today and went to their real home.... thank you Barlracer I cannot wait for them to start laying! Those eggs of yours are just beautiful!


We are now getting blessed with the sounds of sirens.... an Ultralight crashed into a powerline over the Wolf River and the guy crashed into the river. Apparently he is burned pretty baldy and they are doing CPR; Paramedics are on the way, it would not surprise me at all if Thedastar was not called out...... terrible way to start the Holiday, I hope everything turns out alright.....

Got photos today of a bunch of the birds:

The Silkies: A pair of splash, 1 cuckoo pullet, 1 black pullet - love these guys, they're so plush and plump. "Great coats" if they were Aussies.

The Ameraucanas:

Lavender Bantams - love this little cockerel, he's full of personality. Great little guy. Got 3 pullets as well, 1 pictured. Last photo shows banty cockerel with a standard black Ameraucana (split to lavender).

Well I am still alive. Not dizzy at all today, bartered most of my eggs away. Still only 4 babies so I am guessing the others won't hatch.

How long till mallard duck eggs hatch?
I think my serama hen was kept in a small cage, I have her at the house for a few days, to keep a chick company, one that I raised for a gal in
Madison. She will sit in one spot and just tap the wire of the Ex-pen, over and over... she will eat but will then go back to doing that..
She had never done that in the coop/stall.

A few other miscellaneous things in the layer pen (or growing up for the layer pen):

Blue Splash Marans Cockerel (hatched 1-1-11) - big big guy, very flashy and athletic, love this guy.

Couple Wyandottes:

White Spanish Whiteface (just starting to whiten in the face):

Sicilian Buttercup - this little pullet has the coolest personality, supposed to be flighty, but this little gal comes flying out the door to great me all the time. Funny little bird.

The "Layer Pen" is cooped up while the younger ones get acclimated, so they're a bit mad they don't get to free range right now. So, as a meager offering, fresh grass! Yum.

Black copper Marans pullet with her head up her behind...sorry, couldn't resist.

And lastly, a home grown EE out of my cuckoo marans x blue ameraucana:

Yeah, ok, I'm done. Can't believe how fast the young ones have grown. Can't wait for next season's project eggs!

Got some breeder pens to build by next spring.

DrHaha, I do have some fish oil around here, does that cound. Now to find it and start taking it....I hate it..... They make you burp and then you tast the fish

How much should I take. Vitamin C is suppose to help to.... I'll have to start on something. This air conitioning is really making me feel like Chicken Poop or any kind of poop, fill in the blank !!!

BUT, I don't want to turn the Air off.... That would just make matters worse in another way !

ET is finishing up the tower coop so we can finally get some of the young ones out of the living room !!!!

Emptied all of the fly traps outside and buried their remains !!! RIP you dirty #@$%@&%'s. Then while filling up the horse tank two of the 9 decided they needed baths. It was histerical, One would actually push the other out of the way so I could hose them down. One was my percheron/morgan that wouldn't let me go near her with a spray bottle or hose until she had one lesson of parelli. After that she loves a bath !!!
The other was Chief, my big Hubba Bubba Spotted draft (pictured in my avatar) He is my Bozo the clown horse. Always getting into misCHIEF !!

Hope everyone enjoys the 4th !!! Sorry to hear about that accident with the ultralight. It is so sad when you hear about things like that especially on the holidays. So that said, everyone please be safe over the holiday, drive safe, have fun but be responsible, we'd miss ya on here if ya didn't !!!
