Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey everyone,

I'm super stressed. This bedrest crap is kicking my ass. I have so much to do and can't do it. I need to get the duck pen done, my garden is getting taken over, the dishwasher is on the fritz, and I still have to re-buy all the baby stuff the cat ruined.

So much to do and so little time. I was watching a friends cat and she peed/pooped all over everything I had inside the changing table. So I need to buy all new blankets, sheets, bedding, towels, etc. I tried soaking the stuff in vinegar and have washed it about 3 times and nothing will get the pee stains and smell out.

I also don't know if I will get the smell out of the changing table. My grandfather made it for me and it's painted wood so the pee soaked in to the wood and it smells terrible. I have already tried Apple Cider Vinegar, Natures Miracle, and Spray and Wash. Nothing works. The problem is that I couldn't find the pee until it had already dried onto the stuff. I could smell it but couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from. Then I saw the cat squatting in the changing table and went to look and found that she was using it as her litter box. darn thing also ruined my carpet upstairs, poop all over my church pew/couch thing, and broke 3 of my glasses and 2 of my plates. I am really ticked. It happened awhile ago but the cat is finally gone now so I am trying to fix what I can. I got pretty screwed over with the whole situation. It was suppose to be a temporary cat sitting thing and she was suppose to pay for all the supplies and give me extra for watching her. Well she dropped off the cat with a 5 pound bag of food and litter and then never gave me any more supplies or money. I got stuck paying for all her supplies for a few months and paying for all the stuff she ruined. Supposedly she is going to pay me back but I highly doubt it. She finally picked up the cat the other day and didn't give me anything. I kept telling her that the cat was out of food and litter and I couldn't afford to pay for it and she kept making up reasons she couldn't get supplies or give me money. First it was she needed a job, then she got a job and needed to wait for her first paycheck, then she got her paycheck and money was too tight. I'm sorry but money is tight for us too and I just bought my cats 20 pounds of food for $10. I think her priorities were in the wrong place. And she knew how much stress and problems the cat was causing me but finally got the cat the other day because a lot of my friends/family were getting ticked off about the whole situation and were going to take the cat to the shelter.

good evening, I started the day off by putting the new tines onto the tiller.. then I had to try it out.. I did not realize how bent and worn the old tines were.. these new tines really dig!!!

I did the afterthought garden, and then the cukes and squash, and then sidled into the corn rows and did half of the corn patch. then it was 3:3opm and Annie had to head to work.. It was hot out there, but not HOT like it was lately.. I worked up a good sweat, but it wasn't running into my eyes at least..

Yeah Deb,, ta ta ta daa dumm,,, ta dee di dee de dee de dum ,
is there a crossed eyed kid with a banjo on the porch ??

Evening all!
Busy day, busy evening, and I am praying for a good nights sleep.
Dkvart, you can come up here to Brooklyn and get your "chicken fix"...
TO called me with some very sad news, but not wholly unexpected, I gave her and her DD 19 a very small snake, he was a dwarf and had a few special needs.
He did fine for quite some time, and was about 3 or more years old and passed on.
I had gotten another snake some years ago, a dwarf california king who also only lived a few years, so it could have happened at any time.
No more losses on the chicken/duck front, and now I am waiting for the house chick's owner to call or text as they got held up with
family last night.

Well wish me luck on the sleeping front.

Wow--I cant believe that no one has posted since 8pm! I think something must be wrong with my update key! I am swatting mosquitoes in my house as I sit here under the light...not pleasant. Went to Farm and Fleet tonight and picked up some stuff...lots of stuff. I got another 10x10 screenhouse thingy for the backyard. This is my third one...we are really going to try and keep it on the ground this time! It was on clearance and I think the design is better than the previous ones we've had.

I really would like to build a deck for it to sit on; then we could bolt it down to the wood...yup another project! Maybe we might be able to enjoy the yard this year then...

Just wanted to finish catching up--now I need to go out and lock up the sassy ones and head off to bed. My book is due tomorrow and I am not even 1/4 the way through...guess I will need to renew--again. Picked up a great cookbook by Rainbow Hospice at the mill today. Guess what caught my eye? The soups! Must be a little cooler hey?

Oh BigZ--the Buckeyes are doing great. I still am not sure if that one is another roo or a hen though...no eggs yet from any of them...(including the Ameraucana from H&R--I guess the rest of the batch is laying already!) I really like their calm nature. As for the Blue Ameraucanas--the smaller ones seem to have caught up to the bigger ones. No clue on the sexes there either!

Day off tomorrow! Whoo-hoo! Good night all--Terri O

Yep... getting tired.

Amy.... I know how you feel.... I seem to be "missing" eggs again too! Man they're getting better at hiding them too!

Jim... Delaware you say... cool!

Raim.... I yell at the grand kids when they chase chickens! I keep telling them if you want to pick one up you have to go slow. Guess those people didn't get that! Maybe they'll learn:/

Dornes... Good luck on the hatch!

GC.... There's a product called Kids 'n Pets (or Pets 'n Kids) you can get at WalMart. Also Rug Doctor has a good one for pet stains and odors. They are enzyme based so they work pretty well! I've even used them on wood and clothes.

LOL... DH was thinking about how we can build another coop... cheap. Yep, got him hooked!

Why is it when I didn't want the chickens in the garden they insisted on coming in and "helping" by sampling the plantings and now when I want them for bug control I can't get them to stay long enough to do the job!

I think I got a decent pic! This is Jasmine with the 2 Ameraucana chicks on that door window.

Good Morning Everyone! Can't stay gotta go get some gas for the tractor and go take care of a tree for good neighbor Donny. His tractor is still broke and he borrowed his chainsaw to his nephew, it came back broke. And nothing was mentioned about it, he is HOT! I told him that you NEVER loan out your saw because it always comes back broke! He went to use it and it's all messed up with a broken on/off switch. Suppose I'll take the splitter too. He says it's a big tree. I asked how big? He said well it's not real big. I gave up asking

Gotta go! Have a GOOD one!

This is sooo true!! I lent my chain saw out a few times and it always came back broke!! Usually, the chain was shot because they sawed into a nail or something. Or, they sharpened the chain and did not have a clue how to do it. The last time I lent it the idiot put the gas in the chain oiler tank and vice versa. I don't lend anything anymore. Hey, I had to buy my stuff and so can they.

Mornin' all!

TO-my Ameracauna from H&R has just started to lay as of this week. I think ours are related right? Hopefully yours will starting laying in the near future too! Sorry to hear about your snake. It always surprises me to see a California King Snake. I spent so many in years in Cali where 1) they are rare and 2) they are illegal to own, so I never saw one until I moved to TN.

pic!!

DrH-have fun with the not to big tree!! We should take bets on how "not" big it is! LOL!!!!!

Ok, so this question is directed to those of you who have generator knowledge! Dh and I are wanting to buy a generator before the winter. You know, to have on hand in case of a huge snow storm and the power gets knocked out. So, my question is what brands to look for and who to stay away from? I know to buy" bigger" then we need so we don't run the power at max all the time. I've been looking at reviews but I also wanted first hand opinions from people I know. Thanks in advance for any advice and knowledge you guys can impart!!
